Yeah they want this rammed through...but it’s up to the E27 leaders not the EU.

Also Parliament needs to pass the European Withdrawal Agreement Act to give any agreed deal legal force. It can’t be done in the time left.

Is it perhaps possible that he's saying there's no possibility of a prolongation for further negotiating? If UK parliament were to vote through the deal subject to a second referendum which was remain vs the deal, I'd have thought the EU might prolong to allow time for that to happen?

That's not democracy apparently. There needs to be two separate leave options vs remain so the leave vote is split and remain can win.

That's my take as well. It's probably no better (arguably worse) from a DUP perspective, but then again, much better than no deal from everyone's perspective including the DUP.

Personally? anywhere.

this makes an outright revoke now just as likely as no-deal.

We know we can unilaterally revoke article 50.

If the pressure to get this deal through, removes an extension, and a 2nd ref. then the choice is, deal, no-deal or revoke.

I'd bet on revoke over no deal, if this doesnt pass

I would take no deal out of the equation it has been the red herring from the start, it has limited appeal and we could practically have deal that the head bangers can accept. The no deal death cult are such a minority anyway who cares, apart from frog face who will no doubt be like a screaming goose chasing its arse we know have a reasonably balanced referendum. Personally I would sooner have a softer Brexit option but I guess this keeps everyone happy.

I wouldn't bet against it. I've been told multiple times on here the EU are preventing us from leaving by the usual suspects on here despite they'd already given us a deal.
People will lap up what they're told.

No; the eu's lip has finally gone on this one as the thought of the UK sending another PM - possibly papa smurf - to waste another 6 months of their lives is even too much for them

Just saw Johnson and Juncker's statements

Just for a second...….

I thought that Juncker was going to say that he was going to commend the WA to the EU27 - and also that if it was accepted it would be a situation where no extension would be offered to the UK if it was rejected at Westminster.

Not sure why that thought came to mind - but it would be an excellent outcome for the UK.

Just wondered if there was any possibility that there was some 'agreement' between Johnson and the EU about future relations or agreements on security etc.

Anyway - it was just a fanciful moment - but made me pause for a few seconds.

He can't get it through without Labour support or broad cross party support as things stand. He's still 50 short of a majority even with the DUP.

If you were the Eu why on Earth would you extend again. They have in good faith negotiated two deals and worked hard to get them done only for parliament to play party politics.

It’s just rough politics. The EU want this deal. So they will help Johnson get the deal over the line. The EU aren’t going to force no deal over a referendum to endorse the deal or anything like that. It’s not even the decision of the EU anyway. But if it scares a few MPs into voting for the deal then it’s done it’s job.
