Corbyn said he would vote against it 26 minutes before the amendments were made available...

If you believe the press

To be fair Labour, SNP, Lib Dems, Greens have said they will vote against any deal, no deal, anything, all along so nothing new.

They have behaved appallingly as opposition imo and offered nothing to the electorate.

so you anticipate these rights being undermined once this time has passed if the deal is ratified?

It basically sets out the intention to not align with EU rules. On that basis you would expect any FTA to be limited.

A FTA that suits you, us and the EU as a whole.

The world keeps on turning.

So naive. Canada and Turkey have trade deals with the EU but look at the detail - they are highly limited as to what they apply to - Norway has a Full FTA but has full alignment with the rules. It is one or the other. This sets us up for a deal like Canada or Turkey.

Sturgeon should approach the government and guarantee SNP votes tomorrow for the price of a second indy ref next year and in the event of a yes vote, the same deal as NI.

Smart move politically but she cant see past the end of her bitter nose so wont and you will miss out completely on everything.
It wouldn't require independence, same as N.I just more devolution, its a deal they can do down the road as it won’t just be Scotland wanting a share in N.Irelands pot probably Wales too, maybe parts of England it would depend on who’s negotiating the deals and new agreements after WA and after an election. Still an if this all goes through.

Yet they signed them because ultimately they suited.

Whats naive about that?

A FTA will be agreed that suits all parties and if it didn't suit it wouldn't get signed.

I don't disagree with that. I didn't say the Tories would inevitably form the next government, merely that they would necessarily - IMO - be the biggest party. I cannot see how that could not be true.
I hate to point out the obvious, but if another party were to win more seats than them, then it wouldn't be true.

But aren't our workers rights typically better / more robust than those of the EU? Why do Corbyn and Co. think they will degrade once we have left? It is surely not in the national interest to let that happen

So what is the aim?

Independence or more devolution that allows the SNP to keep their rhetoric but still on the teat of the rest of the UK with a bit more power handed over?

They say one thing but much like Corbyn wanting a GE every day for 3 years, when offered he gulped and said no thanks.

There is a small political window for the SNP here and they need to think how much do they really want independence because supporting the government tomorrow and inserting a ref and NI type deal down the line as a condition is a smart move politically.

Look its a thought and the government might say fuck off but it helps Boris and i could see it being a flyer.

I really think a FTA is inevitable if we do pass this deal.

Johnson has compromised and it really makes sense for all parties to agree one.

It has been mentioned in the negotiations and the idea is for us to have a Canada style agreement with them, if slightly different.

I’m beginning to sound like a fucking Brexiteer but that’s just my take.

Why do you think the ERG will vote in favour ?

Because they can see a no deal Brexit at the end of 2020.

If this passes tomorrow that's it we are fucked.

Singapore on Thames here we come.

And Tbf we all know the tories would of done the same had the boot been on the other foot.

Possibly and over an issue like brexit that Parliament had promised the electorate to decide on and to implement they would also have been rightly laughed at and derided.

Come on mate possibly no chance, 100% they'd be doing exactly what's being done to them now.

With NI fucked off it makes no deal or a very limited trade deal much easier politically. So yes the ERG will take this as the NI problem was a massive barrier to crashing out. Without NI they can be as reckless as they want.
