Hindsight’s a wonderful thing - the clamour for a referendum was rising and rising , eventually a PM was going to give one -
Cameron may have campaigned for remain to ‘save his own backside’ but he clearly spelt out the benefits of remaining (trade, economically etc) and the negatives of leaving - unfortunately more people listened to Farage with his easy anti immigrant rhetoric.

It wasn't in the top 10 of voters priorities.

I imagine that put it just below the amount of people who considered pigeons a pest

On the back of believing politicians not to try & make 'the result' one which suits them, when there is no specific instruction as to how the 'deal' promised would be brought about.

Those who do not care, or do not take an interest in the way these people operate, have a genuine reason for not expecting this. Those who are still arguing it was a good idea, as I say, deserve it.
