Var debate 2019/20

Quite clear that VAR cannot change the decision like this. Maybe onfield ref has to admit he missed the whole thing but if he was adamant that there is no pen at first time no way VAR can change anything ie Silva pen case earlier this season which was much more clear than this.

Problem with this is not the VAr its the way they implemented it, basically still gives way too much power to the on field ref he can decide with his first decision what it is gonna be unless it is something very objective, offside no offisde, was the ball out or in the line.

If he wants to give an easy pen to Pool he just has to give it and if it is indeed very easy VAR cannot change it.
If he doesnt want to give a 100% pen to City he doesnt give it and VAR cannot change it. Its not like he wont change it he simply cannot. Only situation maybe if on field ref says he missed the scene but they wont do that.

Clubs signed up for this version of VAR in PL which is much worse than other countries and CL have imo. I wouldnt mind at all if refs would go to sideline to double check themselves and may reevaluate themselves what the fuck happened. But to think the likes of Oliver doing it in Citys favour seems impossible...

The VAR issue is as frustrating as Brexit , and the reasons for both is exactly the same - selfish, pompous and self-serving " parties " - MP's in one case and PiGMOL/PL /FA in the other.

The sufferers in all the shit is as usual joe public , shafted time and again.

even the greatest manager in the world and he backed the idea of VAR is now getting truly pissed off just fast forward to 3.16, nearly steps overt he line and blows his top but holds it back and next questions

Football is going to be dead and buried under an electronic system manipulated by human intervention. In my view leaving it wide open to (manipulation) of many kinds. I'm a click of a finger away from finishing with it altogether after some 62 years of following. I try not to listen to anything now football related other than anything City itself, however that is waring very thin simply because of the brain washing by media, very sad because I love the game as many others do or have done. The establishment/system are taking away my love of my local team.

It’s ok after all, apparently the bbc have decided that kdb and diveha “collided”, so as the bbc is fair and impartial all of you who thought kdb was pulled and pushed all over the place are fucking delusional

I now record the games and will watch later because i simply do not want my day/weekend ruining by getting so fucking angry and upset at shit decision after shit decision.

As you say, the game is being stolen from us.
Same here.
Gone from missing a handful of games in ten years to decorating the house instead of going.
Yesterday was having my tea when daughter said “we’ve scored”, oh....

Mic them up. Immediately. Fans who pay, either by going, or subscribing to TV stations deserve to know what is going on. I’d love to hear what was said for the spurs goal yesterday between the officials, and for the non penalties. It’s the least fans deserve.

And if VAR question something, make the ref use the screen they’ve probably paid tens of thousands to install at every ground.

Such simple measures. Baffled why they’re not implementing any. Hmm.

They moaned about bringing in VAR because it would interrupt the flow of the game. But they've brought it in in a way that it's only function is to interrupt the game because it never actually changes the penalty decision. If they'd said "we're not going to use it for penalty decisions" then fair enough, but they've claimed they're going to use it for that purpose, make a big show of using it, and then never actually change the referees decision anyway. It's a fucking shambles as usual from the football authorities.

No one is asking VAR to over turn any decision, we are asking them to make the ref go take another fucking look at the screen at the side of the pitch!

So many teams are getting screwed over by VAR (apart from one) . But it would seem this weekend reach a new level of cock ups or just out and out corruption.
Spuds goal clearly should have not been given, even the bloke operating the scoreboard knew it shouldn't have been given, even big nose on Gillette Saturday said no goal and than got totally confused!. The thing with spuds that twice VAR has helped them get points with handball.

I think the league will be won by a team that's scored at least 3 per game to over come VAR bent decisions. Or VAR is going to give the league to a team that has gain the most from VAR. I always thought the league was bent to help the scum, but this takes it to a new level.

I think the league will be won by a team that plays in Liverpool and wears red and whilst they are a superb side and might well deserve to win it this season with their football, any doubts to that end result will be taken away.....

Did you see this one?

Absolutely outrageous that it was disallowed.

Incidentally, another example of the double standards of defenders versus attackers, because had it been the other way around, there's no way that amount of contact (not that there was any, he trip himself up) would be enough to give a penalty, but apparently it was enough to rule out a goal. Just like the handball rule. For defenders it has to be intentional, but for attackers any contact is enough to result in a free kick.

Also, Watford got fucked by a no pen decision and it was as blatant as ours.
Spurs goal shouldn't have stood no doubt but I'm less convinced by the penalty claim. The attacker clearly (from the back view) threw his leg out sideways to ensure contact as I think he knew he'd lost the ball, I'd have been fuming if that was given against us.

First ive seen that and it is fucking outrageous but again, big emotional day for Leicester yesterday and their Far East owners.

A win for them and the fan base back home was needed...

The Spurs defender lifted his legs after the slide to ensure he got the man.
