Var debate 2019/20

The problem I have with VAR is the pundits are now laughing at the decisions of VAR like big nose and his Gillette Saturday mates and Grey and Keys etc. And yes it was sort of fun watch Gillette Saturday not knowing if goals were goals or not they really didnt have a clue what was going on in the matches yesterday. BUT , it isn't funny teams will get relegated because of VAR , or get into Europe because of VAR, or win the league because of VAR. It isn't funny.
We have to admit
1, our refs are the worse in the world ( none at the last world cup !)
2, the game is more bent than I though

Take you pick !

The difference is that those in charge of the rugby VAR equivalent, are intelligent, articulate & unbiased.

The “refs” in charge of VAR, on the otherhand........

It is imperative that we hear the reasoning of the VAR officials (as we do in rugby) so we know how they have reached their decisions. They would then be fully & publicly accountable. However, as already said - they are not capable of presenting a verbal public commentary.

So many teams are getting screwed over by VAR (apart from one) . But it would seem this weekend reach a new level of cock ups or just out and out corruption.
Spuds goal clearly should have not been given, even the bloke operating the scoreboard knew it shouldn't have been given, even big nose on Gillette Saturday said no goal and than got totally confused!. The thing with spuds that twice VAR has helped them get points with handball.

I think the league will be won by a team that's scored at least 3 per game to over come VAR bent decisions. Or VAR is going to give the league to a team that has gain the most from VAR. I always thought the league was bent to help the scum, but this takes it to a new level.
Even Ali said he didn’t think it was a goal in his post match interview but Neville (Phil) said on MOTD he thought it was “just about” an ok goal, how can he be so fucking stupid?

Just about is the new low bar that has been set by fucking idiots that thunk they know the game.

Phil fucking Neville!

Give over lol.

Evans through himself to the ground and again, football is a contact sport and not all contact, especially accidental is not a foul.
To be fair, Evans does have JFE, which can make it difficult to maintain balance whilst running.

Did you see this one?

Absolutely outrageous that it was disallowed.

Incidentally, another example of the double standards of defenders versus attackers, because had it been the other way around, there's no way that amount of contact (not that there was any, he trip himself up) would be enough to give a penalty, but apparently it was enough to rule out a goal. Just like the handball rule. For defenders it has to be intentional, but for attackers any contact is enough to result in a free kick.

That amount of contact does get a penalty at Klanfield. No way were Burnley getting anything out of that game yesterday given the significance to certain relevant parties. The fix was in all day long

The Burnley one is probably the strangest one of all. Why did VAR disallow the goal? Thought they weren't there to overturn decisions but just to advise the referee. Surely the on-field ref should have taken a look on the monitors before ruling out the goal (whether correctly or not).
Said it before and this is more evidence of it but the ref is not in charge of the game any longer, he isn’t making all the decisions

Why have we not had one single decision overturned? Ninety odd games, goals galore, decisions to make, not one single decision overturned. The KdB penalty in all probability wouldn't have been given last season and there would have been a cry for VAR to be in place so that the foul could be looked at again from a variety of angles. Lo and behold, we now have VAR and it arrives at the same erroneous decision. How come? What kind of 'interpretion' is afoot that deems that tackle not to be a foul. Just take in Guardiola's annoyance/disbelief that some of those decisions are 'honest'!

According to match of the day there hasn't been a single decision overturned in favour of the attacking team for the whole season. IE the bar for "clear and obvious" is so high that it will only be implemented about once a season, if that. We attack more than every team bar Liverpool, and that's why we are especially attuned to how it's playing out. Put another way, it's not a conspiracy but we are "victims" of the way the system has been implemented.

Agreed — it was definitely a penalty for me.

Speaking of dubious decisions, how was the show? ;-)

He was very good, sounded just like him, he almost would have had to or his act wouldn't have lasted long lol enjoyed it (seen a Michael Jackson one last month, he was also very good) cheers :)

Not one has been overruled, not one. That is an implementation issue.
I think Shearer said last night that out of 90 penalties, not one has been over ruled. So these refs have got every one correct, that’s a remarkable turn around for a group that weren’t deemed good enough to have a representative at the last World Cup

Give over lol.

So we’re 1 nil up in the derby with a few mins left and rashford clips Laporte ‘s heels in the same situation and you’re not screaming your fucking head off for a foul ?

I think when he was a baby Gary drop kicked his head into a wall when Neville Neville had his back turned.

even the greatest manager in the world and he backed the idea of VAR is now getting truly pissed off just fast forward to 3.16, nearly steps overt he line and blows his top but holds it back and next questions

The FA will be spewing, they know he’s fuming and taking the piss but there’s fuck all they can do about it, Pep just saying, every week it’s diving, just diving.

Absolutely, i am a biased bastard but the scenario you just gave?

Goal given after VAR sees no foul.

Glad to hear it was good!

Perhaps we should arrange for him to visit PGMOL and show them how to copy and employ something properly?
