Kylian Mbappe | Real Madrid Player

Not by any means critical but think our owners have shown little interest in becoming regulars in the £100 MILL Plus club per player

Completely wasting himself at PSG
Why is he wasting himself exactly?

He became World Cup winner (with a pretty important contribution), best player of the year in L1, best scorer of L1, won Kopa trophy, 4th place in Ballon d'Or, a world star (after 6 months at Monaco, he was more like a Joao Felix prospect) while playing for PSG.

It is not like he has been regressing. He has (and still is) growing as a player, played different positions, found its way to become a leader in a "star-studded" team. And let's not forget the guy is not even 21. In comparison, some could say a guy like Foden is wasting himself at City because the club doesn't offer him enough playing time.

The mere fact he is actually doing very well in CL stats wise at his age shows he is not being wasted. I would even say that despite his evident talent, he needs to show up when it matters this time. He did a good job last year at Old Trafford but completely fucked up in the return leg while he had a big opportunity to seal the tie. It is where a player of his kind should shine. This is what had made Cristiano Ronaldo so relevant despite having to be compared with Messi: being clutch in the biggest football clubs competition in the world. So far, Neymar has shown to be the top dog of PSG when things get tough in CL (hence the tragedy of his injury before knockouts phase) and Mbappé more anonymous. He has to lift that barrier before he can be seen as having outgrown PSG.

World cup winner - Would have lead the line for France no matter what club he was at
best player of the year in L1 - so what, means f*ck all in that tinpot league
best scorer of L1 - see above
won Kopa trophy - As much due to international form
4th place in Ballon d'Or - as above
a world star - Because of NIKE, not PSG

Ligue 1 is rated as the fifth best in Europe these days. It’s not like it’s the Greek league.

Mbappe is a fantastic player but why dismiss the role PSG have played in his development? It seems a stretch to me to not give any credit to PSG are you saying none of our players have benefited from what our club provides? If the league is tinpot then you dismiss all of his achievements.

Im absolutely not dismissing their role in his development, my point is he would have developed to the level he is at now at any top club.

You don't know that.
We could say the same about any player in that case.

The key point is Mbappé himself wanted to stay in France and go to PSG to keep playing and to leave a legacy in his country. And if it is true that he went farther with Monaco than he did with PSG in CL, we could use the same argument with Bernardo Silva and Mendy. Does it mean they are wasting themselves at City ? In fact, they did the same stuff by leaving a team which had defeated both PSG and City that season and which had ton of potential.

Nowadays, Sterling is one of the best english players. Is it fair to apply your logic and say that, since he was already an huge prospect at Liverpool, he would have developed to the level he is at now at any top club ?

I'm not saying PSG has/had some kind of genius coaches who taught him a lot. The guy is naturally skilled. However, he honed his skills by playing regularly in a good side with talented players. He has been able to try different positions : both wings and number 9 role. The only position he has not really been put in is as second striker which was his best role in AS Monaco.

About his world star status, ofc it is because of NIKE powerful marketing reach, but also due to his week in week out performance with PSG. Rashford is a Nike player too and playing in PL and the most marketable club (maybe not for long as their decline keeps on going) in the world. But Mbappé has been showing a little bit more than the Mancunian.

He would achieve his full potential at City under Pep, he won't at PSG ..
That's not a slur on PSG it's just how it is, I'd love him at City, brilliant player.....
Unfortunately Pep only has one more season to go so would Mbappe come knowing that if ever we went for him
