Absolutely 100% agree.

I go on and on about Twitter on here, facebook is no better.

Its a fucking poison on our society.

You spend an hour on there and you come away thinking we’re about to go into a civil war. You go for a walk and nip into a pub and everyone is just having a beer and a laugh.

It’s like an alternative universe.

Its because by its nature, an echo chamber.

You surround yourself with like minded individuals and material that suits your views.

There is no real debate, just polarisation.

It’s social media in general and you can include forums in that as well. Just take this thread as an example at times!

The difference is this forum is open to anyone and we can argue and debate whilst your twitter feed or facebook feed isn't in the main as you block anyone you dont like, hence it becomes an echo chamber.

I know we have the ignore function but its rarely used imo by anyone and rightly so.

#FBPE is as bad as any Leave means leave shite.

Another instalment in ‘a day in the life of Liar Johnson’ from the Observer.

https://t.co/5H4evrkUsu
Try as they might, it's affecting his ratings not one jot. The left wing remain papers constantly parrot this incessant 'liar' line,
which blithely ignores a wealth of lies from Corbyn et al, and the fact that everyone knows it. These types of ad hominem
attacks are doing them no good at all, and the now looming prospect of not only Brexit, but Johnson being ensconced in
No.10 for another 5 years, smacks of desperation. If, as is looking likely, Corbyn, yet again, bottles a decision and refuses an election,
my bet is that his, and the Labour party's prospects will take another nose dive, he is now being seen for what he is, simply a
serial protester with no spine for fight.
He has to agree sometime though, and Johnson's tactics to get it done is to turn parliament into a Zombie state, and propose motions
until he does, by all accounts. To keep refusing on the now ludicrous platform of preventing no deal will invite a justified a storm of ridicule
and cowardice accusations, even more than he's getting now.
Let's see if the famous Jezza campaigning works this time, the kids don't seem to be as keen, even if we drop the voting age to 18 months,
the 'Oh Jeremy Corbyn' chants at Glasto were made by a group that had about as many members as Kylie's backing group.

The desperation is not only in the newspapers eh @Vic ;-)

I think Corbyn's days are numbered now and he probably senses it. Lose the GE and he's going to be forced to step down, so he's squirming and doing everything he possibly can to avoid it.

It was always a possible outcome. Did you make that prediction before or after Liar Johnson said no government could accept it?
It's difficult to ascertain, it could have got lost amongst the discussions about Liar Corbyn, or liar McDonnell's lying,
then again titty Swinson's lies was the hot topic for 5 minutes, but it's my bet that Liars from the SNP, and that liar Lucas
may have muddied the waters when attempts to see if he would accept it were obstructed by liar Soubry,
abetted by Liars Ummuna, serial liar Thornberry, and that despicable liar Letwin.

Boring but right? It's all the stuff you've said for three years and presumably still believe.

Actually, Liar Johnson is quite courteous compared to Blond Vermin which is where I started.

"Get Brexit Done" seems to have worked as a childish shit slogan. Why not "Liar Johnson"?
You better believe it.
That's where politics is now. It's not just something that affects a referendum. You'll see you're election condensed to a one issue campaign and that campaign will all be about the catchiest sound bites.
It worked for the Brexit campaign and faced with the same in an election the opposition will surely learn from their mistakes and stop trying to explain opposing lies.
It wastes time in which the opposition have moved on. A memorable sound bite that gets into the psyche of people is how it has gone.
The twitter generation and all that.
Great isn't it?

That's good to know.
I'm heading over for a week, tonight.
Think I'll avoid politics in the pub though.

Standing in front of someone tends to make you less confident to be a cock too.

I’m sure if we’d have spent the last 3 years debating in person, rather on here, we’d have fallen out a fraction of the amount of times we actually have.

People are far more understanding and polite in person.

Spot on.

We’re all at risk of being banned from here much more than Twitter and Facebook and considering I actually enjoy it and it’s my only internet discussion, I want to stay, so therefore try and debate a better than I would being anonymous on Twitter.

Intensely irritating though @Vic's constant "Liar Johnson" bleating is to all and sundry, I've decided I actually like it, since such attacks seem to be doing nothing but piss people off and boost Johnson's ratings even further. So carry on by all means Vic. I am sure you will anyway.

A pub isn’t like this politics forum. Most people are chatting about footy and general life hasn’t changed at all.

The trouble tends to be protests in London, outside Westminster, but even then, it’s not violent.

Walking around anywhere else in the country, going to shops or bars, you wouldn’t know anything was happening.
