Tbf, how could he have created any more time within the constraints of the Benn Act? As far as I can tell he got nearer to delivering brexit in 3 weeks than anyone else managed in 3 years - but he's the liar!
Like I said, don't make promises you know you can't keep.
If I knew I was probably going to be late home from work I wouldn't promise to my family I'll be home at a normal time.

He would have kept it had Labour who promised to respect the result and take us out voted for it.

Not leaving is as much on the remain MP's as it is the government and my guess is the electorate will show that come the 12th December.

You could promise to be home on time and be kept late for no fault of your own. That your fault?

Would've been nice if they got the opportunity to vote on it before Boris pulled it in a tantrum after the letwin agreement or pulled it after they rejected his absurd time table.
Johnson has to share responsibility for brexit not being done right now

So the SNP, Lib Dems, Independants, DUP and majority of Labour that had been whipped to vote against any deal the government brought could be voted down?

Yeah i cant for the life of me think why the government thought that a waste of time but can see why a remainer would think it worthwhile.

It had the numbers to pass before he pulled it mate with independents and rebels. He's only got himself to blame but I'm sure you'll keep making excuses for him

Those that voted to get it to a second reading did so to start amending it.

They admitted as such as did the rest admit they would never vote for any deal he brought.

He played them at their own game.

By failing to get brexit done? Made me pretty happy tbh

For now yes but the far more brexity and to the right majority government he and many others think he can deliver come the middle of December wont make you smile.

Sometimes you have to be able to play the long game and in this instance, thats exactly what he has been forced to play.

Careful what you wish for springs to mind.

Pretty long game they've been playing, 3 years and they still can't get it done.
Perhaps the conservatives are actually secretly remainers with how inept they've been

3 years is a long time but then the period between the 31/10 and the 12/12 isn't so long and for those voting to ensure we leave the EU, a date to look forwards to.

Leaving the EU aside, it also gets rid of many MP's that have ensured the last 3 years have been an utter pisstake.

"they" can't get it done for obvious reasons... ineptness from TM but also from a driven opposition who have been determined to oppose ANY deal

They'll regret that stance I feel at the ballot box
