I’d say because the thought of leaving your two best players on the bench is batshit crazy - especially when they are the amongst the top scorers in the league this season.
What’s happened in the past at Anfield means diddly squat. New game, new outlook. Not to say they won’t be on the bench - who knows? I certainly wouldn’t bench them because of what’s happened there previous.
It’s the back I’m worried about, not the front.

Fair enough

As I say, much water to flow under the bridge with a game midweek to think about who should/should not start on Sun but, if either are benched, it wont be for shits and giggles, I hope we can all agree on that

Stopping their full backs is key for me as well as energy in midfield and then let our match winners go to work
So I’d play
Ederson
Walker
Ota
Stones
Mendy

Fern
KDB
Foden

Sterling on right
Gabriel left
Kun

Risk playing Ota I know but don’t think Gundo has the physicality in midfield
BIG PERFORMANCE needed

I hope we can field in attack Kevin, Bernie, Raz and Kun/Gabby. No team in the world will be completely confident facing them. On their day they are capable of destroying any defence.

Sane and Laporte missing versus Liverpool at Anfield are x2 huge huge losses and difficult to cover for.

Sane has scared pants off Liverpool every time hes played against them, much more so than Sterling has.

Laporte because he covers left defensive position & his own so well that mendy can play further forward

keeping Liverpool fullback back in own half and we miss his defensive aerial ability at free kicks & corners.

Walker/Mendy have to play to keep Liverpool fullbacks deeper.Fernandhino in midfield with KDB with either

Foden or Bernardo. We have to keep possession and recycle second ball at first opportunity when we lose it.

Simply cannot afford not to play Fernandhino in midfield. Jesus for press & we need strikers both in front and

behind van dyke for any cross. Eddie, Walker, Mendy, Stones +1, Fern, KDB, Foden/Bernardo, Raz Kun, Jesus

Only City could be questioned how their defense, who conceded goal more than their opponent, could handle an attack who scored 9 goals less than it's own. With CL added it gets even more interested - City 44 scored, 11 conceded - Liverpool 33 scored, 15 conceded. Blimey.

There won't be a ban.
I'm pretty sure its all been decided, that the outcome is known by all, probably a slap on the wrist, and been told to take more care on social media, and that the authorities are more than happy for it to be forgotten about. There would seem little other reason why 2 weeks after the deadline for Bernardo to answer the FA's charge, there hasn't been another word said.

The only thing that worries me is our defence, I think we'll be too slow to stop Mane and Salah when they they hit us on the brake, which they will

Exactly what I thought, although Ota is not the perfect solution, I do not know if I would want Gundogan as a DM against Liverpool.
My lineup is a bit different:
Ederson
Walker
Ota
Stones
Mendy
Dinho
KDB
Gundogan
Sterling
Mahrez
Aguero

Klopp is such a detestable ****.. his team is built to tactical foul.

I was watching their game against Spurs and they played with long balls throughout the match even when they were dominating possession. And surprisingly, their attackers were getting to the long balls almost every single time, even Salad. I worry more about their fullbacks than their attacking 3 tbh. Cut their crosses off and we can win it.
