It wasn't bananas or ridiculous it was inexcusable thuggish violent illegal behaviour that had it been perpetrated by any other clubs supporters would have resulted in multiple arrests and prosecutions. Instead it happened with the full support and encouragement of Merseyside 'police' who kindly let the thugs launch their missiles from their own vehicles. Go figure.
I seem to recall that Merseyside Police also went to the trouble of announcing the route that the coach would take, which seemed pretty much like a tacit invitation for trouble. Pricks.

I was at the 1981 League Cup Semi Final there. We had to use the fruit machine from the Lime Street tea bar to beat the lemmings back. I thought they had learnt to be brave and behave and then the terrorists attacked our manager and players. I will never go there again.

to be fair it was as bad at our place that year. The streets around our ground were a war zone after Grey disallowed that goal. I was at the Anfield one too but thankfully with my dad. Bizarrely our seats with other City fans was in their Main Stand. Very intimidating. We very nearly had a cup final double that season.

Way to go dippers that we have to worry about this in england in 2019

And Liverpool Police do not expect any trouble - unbelievable.
There will probably be some idiots who saved their fireworks and want to throw them at something.

Perhaps SKY could video it for us (sorry merseyside police) for evidence.

Its only banter....

We were in Lime St at 4 PM. The escort was like escape from New York. I remember the graffiti. Get your Stanley's out for City semi final. I will never forget

The coach thing is bananas. I like thousands of other fans that day had a great evening. A couple of pints with mates and no idea what went on.

Id never be involved, but I'd never be there as welcoming the coach is such a weird idea for me.

But you've been back to Anfield since. And aside from a few boos nothing happened. Put it down to idiots on a European night. I don't know. But it's not seen on a regular basis as far as I see.

All fan bases have their elements of idiots. We have our fair share. I was next to three of them on Tuesday night.

What happened before that game was ridiculous

What about a City supporters' coach being attacked recently, was it after the 3-2 in 2014?

Or haven’t you heard anything about that either?

They sent their own players death threats - they really do need to grow a brain cell or two and try and be part of the human race, but i don't advise holding your breath for that one. Sub human is about as far as their evolutionary tree goes.

I appreciate Liverpool FC as a footballing team. We now live in an age where any good football team is branded as buying success or not achieving anything despite being a terrific squad. Appreciation of football doesn’t need to come with a discrediting comment. Jürgen Klopp’s brand of heavy metal football is solid and entertaining. There’s a hunger and desire to win at Anfield. City, as Champions of England, travel as underdogs but very much capable of springing a result. This Sunday’s game will be either one hell of a game for one team – or a dull 0-0 draw.

Started writing this then slipped it onto a blog with a few extar words.

Not underdogs at all, slight favourites with most of the major Bookmakers so “springing a result” is not really the correct terminology unless of course you mean in “your opinion”.

Funny story. Before a Man U game a fella about 30 comes in the George with his little lad. Sits at the far end of the bar. Whispering his order (his lad wearing a clearly man u scarf).

No one says anything. They sit there watching the early game on TV. The little fella eats his crisps, the bloke had a pint. We walk down towards the ground at the same time..not chatting. But theres no abuse.

You'll find Liverpool the city (as I did) one of the most welcoming places. Don't act the fool and while some will have "banter" most people are actually sound. But it doesn't fit in with your image does it? How many times have you been to Liverpool?
Don’t post like a twat, bunch of porkies right there, please tell me how that’s a “funny story”? Oh fuck yeah, it’s Scouse humour, file under Stan Boardman, Arthur Askey and Freddie Starr.

Wow! I’m not one to flag arsehole supporters from other clubs but, u really need to fuck off from this forum. Now!
He's gone, hence no replies since early today, so calm yourself down, they're all given enough rope (and most you never see at all, or only see one or two posts) and they usually oblige.

You can all bet your lives that if you think that Xusername is a dipper, we're already discussing it as moderators, like I said, many you never see at all.

Any chance of a blanket ban of Dippers from 6.30pm on Sunday , this place could be full of them , if we do the unspeakable and lose the game , we will have to circle the wagons on here.

We'll visit that on Sunday once the result is known, but they'll be treated on the basis of the posts they make, as they always are.

However any of them that are on here at 6:30 probably weren't there anyway, so they will be the usual armchair plastics that the majority of those who visit here are.

They did deserve 97 points last season, they were brilliant.... just not quite brilliant enough

Err, they dropped out of the domestic cups early, so didn't have the extra matches we had. Also add the fact it is very difficult to win back to back championships, never mind do it whilst earning 100/98 points and completing a domestic treble. We had some vital first team players missing throughout the season and yet they still didn't win the league.
This is never mentioned when the press quote that they only fell short by one point...

But I am sure Sergio will look back at the last two years of domestic competitions and think, yeah meeting Claude Puels Leceister, scraping past Swansea with more refereeing help than other teams get in a whole season, and stuffing a non league side in a two legged semifinal, those highlights man, can’t imagine anything better than this.

Sergio can look back and remember winning 4 Premier League titles - and know that he did it with a team who do not need to resort to cheating, diving or scamming corners while the other team aren't ready.

Whereas flip flop klopp can perhaps rejoice in winning the CL in one of the worst and most boring finals in living memory with a team who dived and cheated there way there, supported by fans who have no qualms about endangering the lives and safety of opposition players :)

I'm sure you can see the difference :)
