She is quite capable although the SNP government in Scotland don't have a lot to shout about this term. Marginally better than the odious Salmon who is a nasty piece of work. The thing everyone needs to understand about the SNP is that they have and have always had - yes there is quite a long history, a single, simple objective. To create an independent Scotland, so those that insult them because they are Nationalistic are a bit daft. I ran in to her a few years ago and she actually looks better in real life than she does in front of the camera. I found her to be pretty sensible and human in the brief chat we had.

Over the last while, they have certainly gained a great deal more support by playing the 'look what westminster have done' and 'look how Scotland is disrespected'. They havent had to be particularly smart or sophisticated about it as a great deal of stuff has landed in their lap!

She is undoubtedly the best the SNP have got. None of her top team have anything like her political capability.

Sorry, but she's by far the most effective current UK politician, although tbf there is little competition these days.

And to those who deride the ability of the Scots to go it alone, whilst it may be difficult at first, I don't see why they shouldn't make a go if it, given the likes of Slovenia, Croatia, Denmark etc etc have made successful nation states within a wider economic block?

These days it’s always those more extreme that are most effective.

Farage, Trump, Corbyn, Sturgeon.

And well, Scotland leaving the UK will be like Brexit on steroids. It’s an awful idea.

And your argument is similar to people saying “well Canada are out of the EU and are successful, why can’t we be?” The trouble is the pain comes when you leave/lose something, something like being in a nation for hundreds of years or leaving the largest trading bloc in the world, like Scottish and UK independence retrospectively.

Sturgeon is not an extreme politician. I have no idea why you put her in that company. She is pretty central in terms of SNP policies. You really don’t get Scottish politics if you think she is like Farage.

You mean desperate to leave a political union they don't like or agree with?

Exactly the same in respect of their number one policies.

I know exactly what her domestic centre left policies are, thank you very much.

Her main policy, wanting to leave the UK, is as extreme as Farage’s. It will cause deep division, ruin their economy and cause hardship for millions.

She’s an extremist in that regard.

Divide whom or what that isn’t already riven?

The poster claimed Sturgeon was extreme. She isn’t. If you think that she is Trump and Farage incarnate then good for you.

Now I didn't say that did I although they do share a penchant for a bad hair cut/wig by the looks of it and pander to a nationalist base.

I said those on the extremes are usually successful in 2019, I pointed out those that are, all of them for differing reasons. She’s not the same as Trump or Farage but she does have an extreme ideology, as they do.
