Best case scenario for Uefa, they get to sling some shit at City and damage the clubs reputation. They however don’t have to follow through with a court case which could be extremely damaging to them and probably the whole future of European football.

Get a decent team of lawyers and they can ask some rather pertinent questions in court.

Back in the dark days of Dep Spiegel, I took it as almost certain we'd be facing a ban so this would be good news (if accurate). Remember there were other reports saing we would be banned so be careful not to go overboard just because you want to believe it.

Tables turning on LFC. They will be left with a possibly more serious enquiry to deal with.

Oh dear .

So no ban because we’re not guilty but a hefty fine anyway just because they can fine anybody for anything. Tell them to get fucked, fight the fine as they would fight a ban.

Despite what the tin foil hat wearers say on here, they don’t want us banned from the competition, it would cost them money to do so and lose them money without us and that’s all they care about. we are supposed to be thankful there’s no ban and pay them what they really want, money. it's effectively extortion.
To me theyre saying (According to that shite in TheAthletic) that City are guilty, we can only fine them because they have more money and could involve us in years of legal battles which they cant afford. But we're guilty according to them.

What an absolutely disgraceful headline from the Daily Mail.

And you wonder why other fans latch on to headlines like this and hate City. Mainly United, Liverpool and Arsenal fans.

Manchester City 'to escape ban from Champions League' as UEFA prepare to admit defeat on FFP despite club's big spending and leaked emails
  • There had been a belief within football that Manchester City would be banned
  • But reports suggest that the Etihad Stadium side will instead receive a fine
  • It will come as a blow to the strength of UEFA's current Financial Fair Play system

The cynical side of me saw this coming a mile off, they know we aren't guilty, we know we aren't guilty (or if we are they can't prove it).

Ban us and we take them to court, they lose and look stupid.

Fine us, take the 'pinch' again and they look like they have won but couldn't financially compete with us and we are labeled as cheats that got away with it again.

Fine us, knowing we will take it to court, which in essence means we don't get to play in the corrupt fucking cup next season because to do so you have to kiss their arse and not fight them in court for anything (as per FFP regs)

We haven't won anything unfortunately in my opinion.

We don't seem to win in these situations but just lose less than we could do. So fucking galling .
