Yes. The option of a second referendum and remaining in the EU. Positive news for businesses big or small. Will save billions and give us barrier access to a European wide market which will be of crucial importance to the service sector.

Good to see a positive pro business proposal from Labour.
Hahahahahahahahahhahahha. What a comedian. It's the single most anti-business manifesto ever published. Everyone can see that you joker.

Is there a single policy in the Labour manifesto that will boost small/medium sized businesses?

Genuinely would like to know as just read the headline policies for now and they all seem to punish businesses.

Policies have bits that will affect small businesses.

This is the reaction to the manifesto from

Federation of Small Businesses: 'There are welcome pledges within Labour's plans'
Mike Cherry, chairman of the FSB, said: 'There are welcome pledges within Labour’s plans for the small business community – many of which we set out in our manifesto for the next government.

'However, we need to see more details around how the party would tackle the biggest challenges facing small firms.'

Looking at the manifesto in more depth, Mr Cherry said: 'The cast-iron commitments to end the late payment crisis and ban late payers from public procurement processes are critical, but light on detail.'

Cheers. The action on late payers would be welcome for those businesses who supply public services. For those of us who don't, it would have no effect at all.

Brexit is an anti business policy and will suck billions out of the economy into building trade barriers to reduce trade so if you support that then you can’t complain about ‘anti-business manifestos’ because you are supporting the biggest anti business manifesto of them all.

QED and all that.

He also added:

"While Labour has pledged to support the many small firms that will inevitably struggle with its proposed rapid increase to the National Living Wage, it’s stopped short of saying exactly what that support would look like,"
Mr Cherry said."

No, I am not. The Labour Party manifesto is ENORMOUSLY worse.

Boris is sufficiently far ahead in the polls at this point, he basically just needs to "not lose", so I can see why he might have declined this. But then again that was all Theresa May had to do, and look how that turned out.

One thing we can certainly conclude is that since Cameron stepped down, the Tories have been absolutely SHOCKING at campaigning. I mean really abjectly shockingly awful. You can only imagine how big the IPSOS MORI 16 point Tory lead would be, if they were any good at it.

Erm no it doesn't or I cannot find it. Can you tell me which page that is on as I have a copy so I can look it up
Top of page 55 comrade. A member of the Labour stafka simply declares an article as Fake News and any public interest defence goes out of the window.
Stage one before declaring the Canary as official government news and the only news permitted.

I agree, Cameron was very good at his job. Everyone else is several levels below him.

Tories just making the same mistake as last time banging on about brexit and how bad Labour will be, instead of saying what they have to offer.

Yep. It's Groundhog Day.

All we need now is a diabolically shite vote-losing Tory manifesto like last time. Fortunately I am not expecting that - although I am not expecting it to be any good either. Moderately crap will have to do.

The C4 format is simply a bash Boris session, so it's hardly a suprise.

Ah

Media
A Labour government will ensure a healthy future for all our public service broadcasters, including BBC Alba and S4C. We will protect free TV licences for over-75s.

A free and fair press is vital to protecting democracy and holding the powerful to account.

We will address misconduct and the unresolved failures of corporate governance raised by the second stage of the abandoned Leveson Inquiry. We will take steps to ensure that Ofcom is better able to safeguard a healthy plurality of media ownership and to put in place clearer rules on who is fit and proper to own or run TV and radio stations. We will take action to address the monopolistic hold the tech giants have on advertising revenues and will support vital local newspapers and media outlets.

We will consult media-sector workers and trade unions to establish an inquiry into the ‘fake news’ undermining trust in media, democracy and public debate, and on a legal right of public interest defence for journalists..

Don't see how you read that will mean state controlled media, more like a new press regulatory body that will actually deal with the shite and bullshot our press constantly put out.
It is a new inquiry as Labour has always said leverson never went far enough, not some set body controling all media.

Surely we want an honest press?

Taking over the PL & FA too - the Revolution starts!! "In football, the professional game has become divided between the extremes of the very rich and the very poor with clubs in Bury and Bolton facing collapse. A Labour government will examine the state of the game, its governance and regulation, its ownership rules and the support and funding of the clubs that are vital to local communities. We will review the ‘fit and proper person test’ for club owners and directors and ensure that supporters’ trusts have a proper role so that the professional game is properly run for all its fans and all its clubs. A Labour government will legislate for accredited football supporters’ trusts to be able to appoint and remove at least two club directors and purchase shares when clubs change hands. We will regulate safe standing in stadiums and ensure that a proportion of the Premier League’s television rights income is spent on grassroots football facilities."
