Var debate 2019/20

I see one thick red line. Roughly scaled it is about 4 inches thick, or 10 cm, which is about the margin of error based on camera frame rate. The red line is drawn at an apparently arbitrary position, at an arbitrary time. What is the significance of the red line? It could be drawn anywhere. It seems to intersect sterlings head. The shoulder of the defending no 15 is to the left of sterling.
This picture proves nothing.
This picture raise questions of corruption.
This picture suggests level and therefore onside.
I couldn't hit like 1000 times. You nailed it, WTF is going on...everyone can see it, is there no answer?

We should have known this was coming; Scudamore told everyone when he gave that interview to sky sports a few years back, The headline was “The Premier League has a strategic plan” whereby a different team would win it every 6 years (or something along that basis).

Is it a coincidence that we now have corrupt implementation of VAR the first season after he stands down? It’s almost as if he was distancing himself from the ‘strategic plan’.

The headline was very specific - it didn’t say “would like” a different winner - it said “will have”.

I know City fans don’t do banners but on this occasion that headline needs quoting with the date it was said and the link to the website so every other football fan can look it up and read it for themselves.

I have no idea how you would organise such a thing but would be willing to contribute to the cost.

Iv said it many times now, Sky, the FA, Mike fuckin Riley, Var (stockley park) the Media all want the scouse scum to win the league.

Nobody else has a chance im afraid, how do you beat blatant cheating ?

So the dive option for a defender has become a real defensive tool, if VAR is used as it was in Palace vs Dipper game. Any defender feel a push or contact on his body and he's not got a chance of competing for the ball, has simply got to dive/fall over. Is this a 'new' tactic ? Is that what Henderson was doing ? The smallest touch and he's on the deck. We get them chalked off for fun at the moment. Itell you what though, the River Plate vs Flamengo was superb. No holding back on emotion because the officials were going to VAR .

Not sure if this is true or not but I was told last night the the company who produces the VAR technology is 30% owned by a another company which John W Henry is involved with

Been looking around the internet but can't find any evidence of that

It’s sad but very true , the games been stolen off us.

We beat a decent team yesterday but I still feel pissed off this morning ..

Where's the enjoyment gone?

I hope in the not too distant future this will be exposed for what it is and people get locked up..!

This is what any journalist worth his salt should be digging into not fcuking about trying to trip our Manager up with smart arse pre and post match questions..!

By taking our chances.

As corrupt as VAR has been we have had enough good goalscoring chances and more good goalscoring chances than the opposition in all games we’ve played, apart from Wolves at home, to comfortably win the game. Including at Liverpool the other week.

We miss a criminal amount of chances! We have to start taking them more.

How do Leicester retake the penalty following encroachment by Madison. It’s one thing the VAR making arbitrary subjective decisions but referees getting the laws wrong is unforgivable and nobody has picked them up on it. Encroachment by an attacker, resulting in no goal, is a free kick for the defending team. Vardy takes penalty and misses, Madison encroaches and scores. Penalty missed, attacker encroached, free kick to Brighton. Dean seems to have reinterpreted the laws and allowed Vardy to retake. A shocker.....
Said exactly the same to my Dad last night watching MOTD, the fact the defenders encroached as well should make no difference.

If only the defenders are encroaching and he misses them fair enough retake it.

I think a team should get the one shot at a penalty as in the shoot outs, IE if the attacker doesn’t score from the kick the ball is dead, it’s simple and leaves no grey area and encroachment has no effect.

Too many lemmings voted for it Bill; assuming that technology was the answer to everything and everyone against it was a ludite. As long as there is any human opinion whatsoever in a referral, it is open to bias, manipulation and outright corruption. All 3 as we're witnessing now.

I heard the knowledgeable Stuart Pearce on the radio when driving home saying basically VAR is not working but even though wrong decisions are being made on a regular basis it should be kept on and the shit decisions should be accepted by all in the meantime..

VAR can then be looked at in the summer..

Just after the Dippers have picked up the trophy then eh Stuart...

Mind you, he talked a lot of sense and I found myself nodding in agreement and hanging on to his every word, he knows his stuff..!

What a *n*b..!

Its a poor argument this im afraid and basically an acceptance that yes we are being cheated, having to play 12 men but so long as we take all our chances it wont matter.

Of course it fucking matters that we are being cheated and you get the same 3 points for a win be it 1-0 or 10-0.

Why should we have to score 3/4/5 goals a game to guarantee a win and to take VAR and cheating officials out of the equation?

Nothing wrong with VAR. There is a huge problem with PGMOL abusing it, what can be done? Publicise it - banner/tennis balls thrown on pitch disrupting game, it'll spread because it isn't just us being screwed over against the darling clubs - then things will change for the better.

Did anyone else notice at the match the decision on screen was flashed up for less than half a second

Stuff like that to me is what screams it’s bent. Trying to hide the decision from the 50m people that work all week to be able to go and watch/enjoy the game

It makes me feel sick. If there’s no change come the end of the season I’m done

I'm not on about us, I'm talking about Var and the dippers and the blatant cheating that's going on, how can we close the gap when there given decision after decision, and penalty after penalty.

The foul on loveren anywhere else on the pitch isn't given as a foul. How many times do defenders shield the ball and the slightest touch on them and down they go?

Refs have stopped giving fouls for that now where as before they blew up every time.

Yesterday loveren went down with minimal contact. If loveren did the same if he's the attacker it's not even in the slightest a penalty.

VAR have dropped yet another clanger with the Scousers which isn't a shock anymore.

Not saying I agree but I Tried to research this and then hit a dead end when I
Couldn’t find our who’s actually providing VAR to the premier league, but I didn’t find a list of approved providers so I guess it’s one of them?
https://football-technology.fifa.com/en/media-tiles/list-of-inspected-systems/

The lack of transparency in any part of VAR is proof itself of how crooked it is.

What we have now is worse than the previous subjective decisions made at the time of the " event " .

That " goal " for Sterling would probably have been given , rightly imo , before this fucking VAR shit existed.

The very least the officials should be able to get right is the correct law of the game. PiGMOL and their corrupt / inept puppets needs to be fucked off .
