That’s the issue I think. Laporte is obviously a senior CH/leader type player. Looks a fair hand as well. Stones is a great 2nd CB and defo doesn’t give anyone the fear. I thought stones was the future of city and England, capt nailed on but I think that was based on his ball playing while we were on the front foot and winning. Under pressure he goes into his shell. Wether that be in life or on the pitch, he’s had his domestic problems and they seem to be mirrored in his performances. Saying that a run of games may get him back up there. He is no 3rd choice though due to needing games. Prefer otamendi as the 3rd. At least he’s got a bit of bite.Better, but that’s about it. He doesn’t look like a senior centre half
Its not like pep has much of a choice its either him or ottamendi so he'll be first choice atleast until laporte is backI thought he played well, a quick run of games coming up and I hope Pep sticks with him and allows him to keep building back to where he can be.
I’m still hopeful JS can find his form and become Laporte’s regular partner, he was very good yesterday against a lively attack and I can’t remember him giving the ball away. Its not like pep has much of a choice its either him or ottamendi so he'll be first choice atleast until laporte is back
I agree. I said after the game to the people next to me that he was brilliant. Fernandinho played well too, and MOTD chose to highlight him, but for me it was Stones who was MOTM. Stones is back.I’m still hopeful JS can find his form and become Laporte’s regular partner, he was very good yesterday against a lively attack and I can’t remember him giving the ball away.
It’s one of the reasons to avoid match day threads during or just after. The ridiculous criticism of players that have won trophies for us is mind numbing. They may have off days or make mistakes but as long as they put the effort in we have no divine right to win every game. No, your point was he has not shown any signs of improvement under Pep, I did say this in an earlier post.
I also said that was why I replied as it was utter crap, he did improve as in the 100point season he was fucking imperious at the back and I also said he is out of form.
A whole 8 years support, ah well, I best put myself back in my box and bow down to your superiority and knowledge.
As for the criticising players bit, did you not read what I put in the previous post, I take it you didn't as you replied yet again lol
Folk's come on and say fuck me he was shit and leave the thread, then there are others that will argue black is white with any other City fan that disagrees with their assessment of the player, I always wonder what you/others get out of it, some of the player threads are full of this shit, VK's some folk had him finished and he was a liability and was just embarrassing himself, Zabba's the very same, like I said a guy argued for weeks that David Silva was overrated and was actually shit, at this point I feel like screaming "you have said your piece now shut your fucking mouth and move on" but I am always far too polite to be that rude.
i think we'll be looking to buy another centre back next summer tbh that was our biggest mistake this summer. im not sure what happens with stones not sure he'd be happy being third choice. Either way i hope he gets a good run in the time and finds some form without laporte being next to him.I’m still hopeful JS can find his form and become Laporte’s regular partner, he was very good yesterday against a lively attack and I can’t remember him giving the ball away.
