City Football Group | Secure $650m loan facility for infrastructure projects (p 54)

Sorry to seem a bit slow, but what do silver lake get out of this, you dont spend £500m for no return, can someone tell what you get for £500m

interesting - wonder if there is any link to the plans for a new arena at Eastlands?
You bet, it's not just about football, there's a war between ASM Global and Live Nation for global domination of the sport / entertainment sector and we basically teamed up with the later, not good news for The Anschutz Corporation.

It's not like Mansour is short of cash to expand the stadium if he wanted to.

Maybe i'll be wrong, but I suspect this is probably not going to mean much to Manchester City or City fans on a day to day basis, just like the 300m from China didn't change anything.

A good sign that the plan is working though, and maybe it'll open up some silicon valley money on the sponsorship side.

Agree, a PE group taking a minor stake is not going to drive investment - if anything they will be looking at taking money out. But it helps on the legitimacy side where there are essentially 3 groups now holding a stake in the group and they are from 3 different continents.
