We could, and should, imho.

Surely the end game is to teach what happened, in the hope it reduces the likelyhood of it happening again (obviously i dont mean colonialism, but any type of injustice). I really don't get what the fuss is, one way or the other, it is neither a revolutionary exciting change nor is it a crazy ott idea. I have no issue with teaching being expanded, to include more if it was missing before. i don't see why anyone would.

It's going to happen again, in fact it has never stopped, that's the point. The British Empire has no relevance in London specially the indigenous white population have nearly gone, America is tearing itself apart with the blame game and we don't have to join them putting our heads on the chopping block.
Every country large and small should teach that they've committed crimes against humanity too, because they probably have, but bud this is a way of dividing this country even more and it's already divided too much already.

Good for coffee drinkers. However prices, quality and choice are better in the U.K. as my Australian cousins never cease pointing out when they visit. They positively faint with excitement when at the deli counter in Tescos.

I find Germany is not well served when it comes to choice either.

I guess culture and geography inform a large part of this in the two examples above. That and we as a nation have a very non discriminatory, almost magpie, attitude to cuisine. If we like it we’ll eat it and not worry about where or who it came from.

you know Australia is massive , sparsely populated relative to its land size and a million miles from anywhere , whereas in the uk.....

It’s geography Bob , just geography.

that’s why your corner shop in central Manchester , has more variety than than the coop in coniston for example.

Yes. Which is why I said geography (for Australia) and culture (for Germany ) inform a large part of this debate.

So, good people of the forum, I ask you, which lying Tory rag is the above quote taken from? The Daily Mail perchance? What about the Torygraph? Maybe the BBC with their covert Tory activists distorting the truth (notwithstanding the opposite is true of the BBC)?

No, my friends, The Guardian. Supporter of fine Labour principles since records began. And a huge supporter of the scruffy, bum fluff-bearded tosser, obviously.

.

The Guardian are not pro Corbyn. You must be confused.

Errr yes?

International relations.

(1)A person who is or has been a Crown servant or government contractor is guilty of an offence if without lawful authority he makes a damaging disclosure of—

(a)any information, document or other article relating to international relations;

You guys need to get your line straight, this documents is either covered in dust, of no import, showing negotiations between an ex minister and various no name US nobodies, all of it conducted under a different Prime Minister, or its disclosure is a traitorous crime and Corbyn should be locked up in the Tower.

Go away and come back when you make sense.

I didn't say it would stop, i said in the hope of reducing.

You are probably saying what you are with good intentions, and i respect that, but if im honest, it's a bit much for me.

It is at the end of the day, including real events into teaching. i don't see harm in that. And yes, other countries doing the same would be good.

I agree society is too divided as is, what is worse than a divides society is an ignorant divided one. I'm not really following the 'indiginous white population nearly gone' arguement, im not sure i want to. How many in the UK are truly 'indigenous'? maybe that is another bit to include in fhe teaching ambitions, immigration in the UK through the ages. At the end of the day, i doubt there is anything sinister behind it.

Edit. imho germany deal really well with teaching their history, accepting it, and moving forward. beyond school too.

yeah and great news they can vote twice , once at uni and once at home. But that’s ok and totally legal because they vote labour.
If it s true, not sure it is,but then surely that’s a loop hole the tories have years and 3 elections to fix and haven’t so it’s hardly only legal because they vote labour is it.
