You had to be there at the time. Eddie Braben was a wonderful writer.Morecambe and Wise.
Tried watching the so called classic shows. Not for me.
He was shite on the telly but suppose to be brilliant live.Bob Monkhouse.
I seem to recall that he had his lifelong catalogue of material stolen. Personally, I saw it as an act of mercy. He was shite on the telly but suppose to be brilliant live.

One of the best things on Tele once they got rid of him.Harry Enfield was pretty bad. Loadsamoney was dreadful and he ruined the first series of Men Behaving Badly.
I like it - apart from the other acts insist on interfering.........He made prime time TV worth watching. Basically all of those reality TV extra shows try to copy TV Burp and You've Been Framed and demonstrate just how good Harry Hill is at it because none of them come close.
Anyone seen his new show on Channel 4? A lot of more experimental acts on so no doubt plenty for people to whinge about on this thread.
"Would you like a coffee Eric?"You had to be there at the time. Eddie Braben was a wonderful writer.
You are right, I still await the next series :-(One of the best things on Tele once they got rid of him.
Took me a few reads but it gets a like from me"Would you like a coffee Eric?"
"I'd rather a tea, Ern".
It probably doesn't transfer over to the written word all that well. And time may not have been too kind to it. But at the time, that was brilliant.
I guess delivery is key in comedy. And Eric was brilliant at it.Took me a few reads but it gets a like from me
