I know for sure two teams had they been playing at home would have got that penalty. No VAR,ref would have pointed to the spot.By the letter of the law the Fred one wan't either but I've seen them given enough times it could have been.

What “letter of the law” is this? The one that says if you go towards the ball with your arms behind you back, but as the ball is coming, you move your arm TO THE BALL, it isn’t a handball? THAT law? You’ll be shocked, but I couldn’t find it.By the letter of the law the Fred one wan't either but I've seen them given enough times it could have been.

Ha i have had a beer and i don't drink lolNot like me then .weeping openly and downing bottles of Henry Weston's :-)
That shit was enough to make anyone turn to the bottle.that 1st half was the worst derby half I can rememberHa i have had a beer and i don't drink lol
The new law says the defenders arm has to be away from his body, this one and the dipper one both had their arms down then put them out away from their bodies, those are pens, they are being given in other games,we have a formal complaint in against oliver for the dippers game, guess who was the var ref todayBy the letter of the law the Fred one wan't either but I've seen them given enough times it could have been.
Not that the other oneI haven't seen a replay and I can't find video of it but the law does say that it's not handball if the player is going to ground and their arm is between them and the ground to support the body. It's apparently still then part of the "natural silhouette"
If you have video then I'll like to see it. Seen plenty of still images but they don't exactly tell the whole story.

Just wondering, have City benefited from any key decisions being given by VAR in comparison to other teams at the top?
By key decisions I mean red cards or a pen when the game is 0-0 or we are a goal down to get us back into it. It’s all well and good getting a VAR decision when we’re cruising in a game but it just seems to me that we haven’t had any real game changing decisions in our favour, especially compared to our main rivals ..?
VAR rules must be changed. The games should be controlled by the referee. VAR is picking and choosing where it wants to inflict itself and that's taking away from the game. Maybe the managers can be given "challenge flags" like they use in American Football. When a manager wants to challenge the referee, he can throw the flag. VAR interrupting every single goal is not good for the game. Give the game back to the referees.
It seems to be picking incidents that happen in our penalty area and scrutinising then forensically, and as soon as we carry the ball over the halfway line the fucking system is turned off, and if we do get the ball in the net then VAR makes a miraculous return and tries desperately to overturn it. There was an incident in the Mersey derby where the best Dutch player ever to grace the PL trapped Calvert-Whatnot's foot and sent him tumbling, never touched the ball, and a clear pen - nothing given. Sissoko, in the Rags-Spurs game makes an identical challenge on Rashford who, two steps further on than C-L, goes down - ref awards the pen, no reference to VAR. I haven't seen the Bernardo tackle but I am informed that it seems rather identical to the VvD tackle on C-L. Identical challenges but very different outcomes. No doubt Old Mother Riley will have his usual mealy-mouthed explanation at the end of the month!
There’s was a penalty(very clumsy from Bernardo)but we also should have had one. What happened with there pen ?
Should we have had any
What was ours for? There’s was a penalty(very clumsy from Bernardo)but we also should have had one.
What was ours for?
