Var debate 2019/20

Sorry but we are 14 points behind the leaders, possibly 6 behind Leicester after today
It cant all be Var mate instead of constantly finding excuses instead of debating the real reason... our shambolic defence and an aging backbone of the team which has served us well over the past decade.
Our performances are pants but VAR still needs debating regardless. Perhaps that is too complex for you to grasp...

That was probably a penalty, but I was absolutely outraged when they overturned the referee's decision, given all of the far more blatant penalty decisions that haven't been overturned this season. Not even in games involving us, in loads of games. The lack of consistency is absolute bullshit.

Actually VAR is remarkably consistent when the outcome favours either the dippers or rags .

It is all the other teams who are being fucked over.

It’s all in our heads, I got told this yday by a Boro fan, I said I’m not watching today (I’m in Oz) as I know we’ll get cheated & we aren’t at the levels to beat a team & team of bent officials. He won’t have watched, he’ll see the write up & a few clips & then he’ll tell me how brilliant the Dippers are.

it’s Fcking easy to lie & cheat, it’s annoying but when you measure against some of the most horrific & disgusting things that corporations, governments do, do we really believe justice will prevail.

The "three handballs" is a bit poor.
Shaw's arm couldn't have been in a less natural position if he'd tried.
Fred's was handball.
I assume (from memory) that the 3rd was the close-range ricochet, which the laws say will generally not be handball if in close proximity (so a defender slicing a clearance into the ground and having it bounce up onto his arm is not handball).

I’ve no issue with VAR giving United a penalty yesterday. Those situations are exactly what it should be used for IMO.

The problem I have is the inconsistency in how it’s applied. The KDB non-penalty against Palace and the Rodri one v Spurs are two that spring to mind which were just as clear cut as yesterday’s and were not given by VAR.

All season the phrase VAR will not overrule the refs on-field decision has been peddled out but Taylor waves play on yesterday. He certainly didn’t give the pen, so why the change of heart?

Like I said, I want VAR to be making the decisions like it did yesterday. But I also want fairness and consistency and those rules must be applied to all teams. There is no fair logical explanation as to why VAR gave United a penalty yesterday but failed to give Everton one mid week.

There is a logical explanation , they want Liverpool & Utd back at the top, they make the most money out of them . This is a multi billion pound industry , they don’t care if it’s fair or not , we are being shafted & everone can see it .

Would City have been awarded the penalty by Michael Oliver ?

Would Anthony Taylor have consulted VAR if the roles were reversed ?

The PL and PiGMOL have agreed agenda which assists the dippers and rags in order to keep their respective lemming hoardes watching the product .

Conspiracy theory ? Dead fucking right .

The game of football is fucked .
Fucked off home (from the pub) in disgust at half time. Fuming.

Anyway another weekend where VAR speaks yet never, ever speaks for us.

Well done Oliver who can't ever give us a nailed in penalty in a game manage to award one whilst sat 200 miles away and to the opposition. Also we'll well done for not doing so for 3 handballs in the box yesterday.

His bosses will be ecstatic with his performance yesterday, he really did step up to the plate.
Up until yesterday i never subscribed to the ''It's used to fuck City over'' viewpoint. Changed my mind last night. Van Dyck- no pen/Silva- pen is just simply incredulous. The inconsistency is so shocking that i can only come to one conclusion.

United were 9/1 for the win before the game - betting markets in the far east will have been very busy before the kick-off.

Basically if it's a game against the others of the 'Big 6' then make sure you bet against City, you'll be glad you did financially.
Spurs home - Handball given to cancel out the winner, Rodri wrestled to the ground + no pen.
Chelsea Home - Sterling goal disallowed (didn't affect the outcome)
Liverpool away - Don't even get me started.
United Home - No penalty decision overturned (see Rodri above), numerous handballs (at least one would have been given for Liverpool or United)

Can't wait to see how they screw us against Leicester.

Just watching Eibar v Getafe, Getafe score from a cross but one of their players went to head the ball from an offside position, he missed it and the ball ended up in the net, OG. The on-field ref reviewed and disallowed the goal. Again it’s the interpretation that’s open to abuse, if it’s not initially spotted by the officials so it’s not clear and obvious and should be allowed. The very fact the VAR team sent the decision back downstairs means it wasn’t clear and obvious. The whole system is fucked and lends itself to a cheats charter. Thankfully (for me as I backed Getafe at 2/1) the game has just finished 1-0, entertaining match as well.

Think the VAR thread needs to be banished because every time we mess up or lose, half our fan-base run on here blaming everyone and anything bar the team itself.
Not a single fucking post when we won the title or the cup but plenty in here with this shite
Just saying

Ummm..city
Id hazard a guess 95 percent of people on here have never been to Main Road.
You only have to see the posts on here to see the majority are probably Xrags who jumped ship, hence the obsession with Liverpool..
Maine road,if you are going to troll spell it right
