The Labour Party

I can't see labour escaping the marxist/anti-Semite label until they install a leader that stops threatening to reform murdochs stranglehold on the media and blaming bankers instead of immigration for poverty. I wonder if this result is 'peoples vote' enough for the remainers, or did folk not understand /have all the facts (again)?

Let momentum and the hard left have London.

The rest of the UK should set its own centre left party up.

If the UK survives this.

Scotland is lost if exit poll true and there will be a referendum on irish unification eventually with johnsons border.

And tbf most of the citys (us, scouse, bristol etc) are labour dominated not just london.

As a member let the country have its Labour party back please.

I'm out on the lash mate. Can you summarise?

Not much, most agree on the coverage it is down to remain vote splitting and so the north east has voted tory for brexit over traditional loyalties.

I doubt even a centrist new labour would have won over those that are determined to get brexit over with.

But they would have been remain and the remain vote is split, wwouldn't make a difference tbh, people who backed this style of labour in 2017 have chose to not seemingly because of being dlfed up of brexit and jezza.

I cant see any coming back from this. The Labour Party as we know it is finished. This will need a complete reinvention that will take decades

They've been headed on this path since the 2010 leadership election. David Milliband took 570 constituencies to his brother's 60, had the support of the MP's, but the fuckwit younger brother did his deal with the unions and got through on the back of it.

In a parallel universe, David Milliband wins 2015, there's no Brexit, and Jeremy Corbyn is still a nobody back bencher.

Indeed. With a new name, new colour, different line of speech, different politicians, real green policies, understand what voters want and not go down the route of what these people in the shadows working behind the parties want.

Don't agree with Corbyn on all things, but after listening some of the rats from Labour that are upset for losing the seat, I respect the guy a lot. It's obvious that all they cared about was winning the seat and they were ready to go with whatever voters would want (and that's cuntish thing in politics and generally in life), while he had his ideas and ideology and presented them to people asking for support, even though he knew it's very risky thing.

Politics should be about having ideas and promoting them to people, not about gathering data from people and shifting your stand to win the seat. If people don't like your ideas, you'll lose, but you keep some honour. And yes, fuck people.

The worst result since 1935 tells you it's not just about Corbyn or Brexit but also most of the manifesto which was toxic to most of the country.

I'm glad the working class gave them the kicking they deserved but the Conservatives will never represent the interests of the working class so Labour needs to act fast to purge these hard-left fascists who treat the electorate and working class with utter contempt.

That doesn't mean going back to Blairite PFI, part-privatisation of the NHS, the housing crisis and all the rest of it, but it definitely means coming back to reality and not promising everything under the sun with no plan to pay for it.

This kind of entrenchment is why every recent election appears a shock.
Time to ditch the party system. God knows what for though.
