Hmmmm, not as excited by this as a lot of others seem to be, was hoping for a weaker side to buy more time for Laporte to get fitter for the QF.
Could be out of the CL & League by mid Feb. Wonder who the favourites will be now.

Neither, probably.

It's split over 4 weeks in the CL, as the EL has an extra round to fit in.

Wk 1: Tues 2 matches, Weds, 2 matches
Wk 2: Tues 2 matches, Weds, 2 matches
Wk 3: no matches
Wk 4: reverse of Wk 1
Wk 5: reverse of Wk 2

Clearly the Madrid teams will be split, which conveniently splits Liverpool and City too.
Chelsea and Spurs will be split across the pairs as well, I expect.

I don't think there were any "easy" ties on paper. It's a very strong set of 16 teams - probably one of the strongest I can remember - so I think Real, despite their fantastic history in this competition, is as good a draw as any.

nope there certainly weren't. I think Napoli are probably amongst the weakest of the draw this season, but it's a tough last 16 yes
