'I've researched more about wind than anyone else'

How anyone can watch that and still support him is beyond me

Also, among an awful lot of the shit he speaks the ‘killing the birds’ one is the one that really annoys me - The RSPCB, who’s very existence is to protect birds, support the use of wind turbines as they feel climate change is bigger threat to the global bird population. Another thing, domestic cats kill more birds annually than wind turbines

Trump knows all that. He just treats us supporters as though they think and they lap it up - very odd

Any cursory investigation into the costs of producing a wind turbine, would make Trumps point very easy to understand,200 to 230 tonnes of steel and that's just for starters it gets much worse, disappointing but true

How fantastic for the US Steel Industry.

Ps, what the fuck do you think they should be made of if you want them to last and do you believe for one minute that coal or gas power plants produce a smaller carbon footprint for KW/h?

Wind turbines are made in China and Germany , if you have a coal mine 4 miles from a power station then its a resource that should always be an option, and work is ongoing into carbon capture from the emmisions

Why do you think that is? Does it have to be that way? Are you quoting Trumps speech? Where’s your source Trumper?

I think the world is a long way from workable carbon capture on industrial scale.
Other poisonous gases - nitrogen-containing and sulphur-containing ones - can be captured much more easily.

I think the biggest US turbine makers shut down in the last couple of years, but the output of making a turbine and transporting it isn't really going to be that much over its lifetime.

It’s hardly a surprise (if true) that not many turbines are made in the US. It can’t be good for business when the President is a card carrying climate change denier who takes every opportunity to tell everyone that turbines are killing birds, too noisy, give you cancer and your telly will go off if it’s not windy outside

What bollocks. You’ve just quoted Trump’s speech. Didn’t you know that every time he opens his mouth he lies?

Just in case we're in for a few pages on this topic . . .

https://energyacuity.com/blog/2019-top-10-wind-turbine-manufacturers/

The three largest makers by far are German, Danish and American. And Siemens (#1) is in part so high because of a merger with Gamesa, a Spanish company.

Granted this data doesn't say WHERE the turbines are made/assembled, though descriptions indicate worldwide plants (and likely hundreds of subcontractors who could be anywhere).

Am I correct in thinking the wind turbine industry in the USA employs a large amount of military veterans?

No idea. I do some work with one of the large fiberglass blade subs so the Germany and China thing didn’t make sense to me but I don’t know much about the US turbine side. Wouldn’t surprise me though.

Just done a quick search.

The WaPo says there are over 100,000 people employed in the U.S. wind industries. I've done a search for veterans jobs in the industry, and there are loads.

Just demonstrates how out of touch with reality Trump really is.

Him and the idiots that quote him thinking he’s genuine.
