Pep's contract situation | 2 year extension confirmed! (pg1817)

Pep Guardiola on staying longer: "This is my fourth season, next season will be the fifth - I'll try to stay next season. It is a long time. I have answered this question recently many times, I am incredibly good here. I have to see if I deserve a new contract..."

These journos have made a point to poke Pep in all ways possible

He’s teasing them - I seriously think he might stay on a bit longer and break their hearts.

On the press conference itself, I find it disappointing that the questions are so repetitive and boring. The press didn't pursue the role of KDB at Arsenal and at home to Leicester. Whether by accident or design, and I expect it's by design, KDB has been very influential in the last couple of games. How did this come about? Can City employ the same tactic on the left with Sterling and Mendy?

You wonder just how interested in football these journalists are. I think fans should go. It would be more interesting. Such a waste of Pep's time at the moment.

99% of them want an headline for clicks that’s why we should ban the lot

You give these hacks too much credit. Most are as thick as pig shit and haven’t got a clue about formations or tactics. Why do you think Pep treats them with such utter contempt. As you say it’s a complete waste of his time. A bit like playing scrabble with David Beckham.

It hasn't dawned on most hacks yet thet they need to ask questions which require an answer of more than one word. A bit too difficult for them.

Both before and after any question and answer sessions with Pep. We should have the press officer state that if anyone should ask a question about Pep leaving at the end of this season, the whole question and answer session will be cut short there and then, then all the press will be asked to leave the venue.

Just imagine that just after 1 question has been answered by Pep, one of the journo's asks Pep is it true that you will be leaving at the end of the season. The press officer comes forward and says the session has now been terminated, due to the question about Pep leaving at the end of this season. I don't think that whoever that journalist will be he will go down well with the other journalist's would he. The same would apply to any television interviews as well. It is now time to play hardball with these guys.

Even Simon Stones Mum doesn’t think he’s brilliant. I’ve met him a few times and he’s like a fanzine seller. Just a United fan who can’t believe the Beeb pay him to do fuck all.

Ha, journo's have never been hated more aside from the days of the news of the world and phone hacking,i wish we would ban the lot of them,i don't see why pep has to look out on the same tired faces just looking for a negative angle every week

There’s a scene in the Amazon documentary where Pep walks past a TV screen and the pundits are talking about City. Pep has this look of utter contempt - he knows they are totally clueless but the sad thing is they have no idea.

Bit Stalinist like.

I love it

Wouldn’t surprise me if Foden was put up top.
But Sterling Bernardo Spanish Dave are some of the options.
Spanish Dave is gone at the end of the season, as good as the others are they are not in the same bracket as Aguero in that position, I know sterling has improved massively on his finishing but if he plays through the middle we have no pace out wide especially with no Sane

Reading this threat and whatching Pep’s press conferences… as a FC Barcelona fan it's like i've seen this movie before haha
I remember his last season in Barcelona and it was hard to deal with such a long agony... and he stil has one more contract year here.

But now i think players are more involved with the project and it’s coach than Barça players did at their 4th season together. And on the other hand, I trust a lot in the triangle formed by Soriano, Txiki and Guardiola. Here Pep didn’t get along with the club president, so i’m pretty sure his final choice will be different.

I just hope this threat doesn't fill hundreds and hundreds of pages!

Although i'll read every word you write :)
