Liverpool thread 2019/20

Behave they have just won the champions league and are running away with the prem against our self titled ''best prem team ever''. How can they not be that good?

We have only conceded 6 more goals and only +2 gd difference worse than them and that is with Fernandinho playing at centre back and injuries to our key players at some point. There were plenty of games during their run where they totally rode their luck and were in need of some assistance.

They were 2 points off it last season, i'd say they have competed with our best and now they have overtaken us. Even with Laporte in the side of don't see our team winning them games we lost tbh.

You don't see a dramatic difference in quality between Otamendi and Laporte?

We conceded 4 goals in the last 14 games last season.

Laporte isn't the sole reason for why are 2nd in the league and I don't believe him playing would have changed anything with how well Liverpool have performed.

Yes, my posts are the ones that are one-sided on this thread in the last few pages.

Well, many admit that they are a great side, those saying they aren't are quite rare. The thing is that they are a great side helped by officials and the league as indicated by the absurd fixture list.

Well, injuries to Sane, Stones, Aguero, Kevin, Zinch...might have a lot to do with our problems indeed.

What about the help Liverpool are getting from referees? Has it anything to do with how Liverpool are doing?

Have you been picking them up on their lack of balance, seeing as it’s so important to you?

I haven't because I can see why they are frustrated, especially when even some fans on here are saying they have overtaken us, let alone the media. How can one not think the league is rigged when Liverpool get much more favourable decisions and have been blatantly helped by the league with the fixture list? What's your opinion on the Christmas schedule? Does it indicate something?

they have played well this season it hurts me to say but i believe there are other factors to bear in mind
VAR
challenging clubs have had some bad injuries
united, chelsea, arsenal all have had managerial changes with unproven managers taking over
spurs- inconsistent as ever but probably more so this year.
i console myself with the fact that if and when they win it this year they will have the same number of titles as leicester and blackburn and their fans will always be c***s

By us not having a fit back four it affects every other aspect of our team, like Ferna having to play CB which weakens the midfield. It means that the continuing change of players they don't get to build up partnerships that breed confidence.
So they haven't played our best this season and to be fair the game at klanfield season was one of the worst refereeing performances you will see.

Which one in particular?
Well, why do you think the overtime was generous against Southampton it wasn’t overly long and how did we get the rub against United. In all them games we dominated. Liverpool on the other hand, where do you start. Crystal Palace at clanfield, Speroni dived over one and palmed one in the net. Everton outplayed them and then in the very last minute Pickford decided to Palm the ball off the top of the bar onto Origis head. Spurs at clanfield again got outplayed Lloris palming the ball onto defenders leg for last minute own goal. West Ham away Milner stood more than a yard offside to set up their goal. That is without this season the handball against City last minute dodgy penalty against Leicester and dubious VAR decisions against us and for them.

It's a pity we play you in a few days time because I wanted your new manager to get you off on a decent winning run. Here's hoping he turns it round for you and the new ground gets the go-ahead as well. Anfield and the swamp will be sheds for the rest of us to laugh at.

I thought it was generous at the time, without going back and watching the game I can’t give specifics. Ederson made a point blank save near the end against united which he didn’t know much about and could easily have gone in. Didn’t include it in my three because it was still a brave stop, but either side and it was a goal. Your points about last season are all fair, but we weren't discussing last season. We were comparing our run in 2017/18 with theirs this season, where whilst I’ve acknowledged they’ve had some iffy decisions, their run has been down to far more than that imo.

Whilst we’re talking about rub of the green what about our goalkeeper getting injured before we play the twats. They always seem to have this type of luck what about at the swamp last season when United got four injuries in the space of twenty minutes. Fuck me.

If we win tonight we go 2nd??? back to back and 2nd in the league is a great achievement, the domestic treble/ quadruple will in my opinion never be beaten we have come a long way just be gracious sometimes. They have been better even taking var into consideration this season, should be a great incentive for our club to take this challenge on next season. Anyone who thinks we have deserved to win the league this year are deluded
