Bond films

I enjoy the old ones, but expect the fun police will soon stop us seeing the connery ans moire ones due to sexism and even racism. Some of the newer ones I enjoy as action movies but they don't feel like bond. It's all a bit of a franchise like star wars now. One day I must read some of the original novels to see what they are like.
Good shout that. Ive got a kindle with loads of them on it and still havent read any. Will make a start tomorrow

I actually think the books are better than the film's, great read all of them.

I recently read Casino Royal again, had to chuckle at the sexism and racism. Now re reading Robinson Crusoe, Holy Shit the PC crew would shit their pants reading that one

Connery - good at first (Goldfinger and the one when he gets the dodgy Japanese makeover) but pushed on too far in competition with Moore and the less said the better of that snide version he did.
Moore - good at first (Live and Let Die & Man With The Golden Gun) but became a parody in the end.
Lazenby - love his film, good story and one of the best soundtracks. Not enough info to judge his acting skills, some scenes good, some a bit like the later Moore stuff.
Dalton - should have turned it down. Possibly/probably the best actor (by that point and maybe after too) but definitely the worst films due to all the fallout from the legal stuff going on. They tried to modernise the character but it didn't work too well.
Brosnan - movies were better, probably because he was the one they wanted when Dalton took the role.
Craig - will be difficult to follow. Liked them all apart from Spectre which I think should have been his last. Skyfall & Casino Royale the best Bond stories of all for me.

I'm hoping they pause the canon for ten years or so after this new one. Just write some stories for a female agent for a while, but don't replace JB with a female actor, it'll spoil it.

Goldeneye is my favourite.

Daniel Craig is too much action and Bond shouldn’t be that hench.

One of the pleasures of retirement is having time to do shit. And do shit you should, otherwise you become a bit brain dead.
I've decided to watch all the Bond movies early next year, in sequence, they're all on Stan. an Australian streaming service similar to Netflix.
I'm going to be open minded and give even Tim Dalton and George Lazenby a chance. :)
Giving each one marks not just for the actors, but for direction, storyline, cinematography etc.

What's your favourite, if you have one. ?

Don’t tell me you are genuinely going
watch all of them? I only managed about 50% of David Niven’s train wreck as Bond, and I’d recommend you give it less than zero minutes of your time.
The rest, have fun :-)

I think the film I'm thinking of is Thunderball, where Connery has taken a Japanese girl to bed and as they're asleep a couple of henchmen try to murder him but kill the girl and within a few seconds the dead girl is forgotten about
That always sticks in my mind as being particularly sexist

Now for my sexist comment
Sexiest Bond girl, Honor Blackman. What a woman!!
