The Labour Party

"The Resistance"

Narrative to fuel some misplaced 'revolutionary' fantasies amongst it's immature support, i'm guessing.

Sounds better than "Progressive Patriots" I suppose.

No need mate. Johnson is going to be an excellent PM - just watch.

Minimum wage getting it's biggest increase ever in April. Economy surging on the back of renewed confidence. Massive increases in NHS resources. Good times ahead!

I hope you’re right.

Tony Benn was known for his hatred of all things American.

Bit like Kim Philby then.

All Tories hate black people you know, jolly Gerald Nabarro was knocking about in Benn's day and he had his finger on the Tory pulse....

"How would you feel if your daughter wanted to marry a big buck ****** with the prospect of coffee-coloured grandchildren?"

It's easy to indulge in fantasy, reality is a little more nuanced.

Laughable it certainly is, Corbyn's message to the people was completely devoid of any cognisance of reality, a metaphorical
cry to man the barricades against the evil entity he is driven to destroy. He typifies the political fanatic, has no empathy
whatsoever, and has/is leading his party to oblivion. The replacement, whenever Labour's ludicrous discussions, meetings,
NEC approvals, and sundry other pointless talking shops have finished and he drags his carcass back to the back benches,
is looking like him in a frock, which will only serve to accelerate the demise.
It's nor just Corbyn though is it? The Labour middle class left axtivist clan is totally deluded. There they are in their social media echo chambers proclaiming the mantra of the super progressive - yet anyone who doesnt quite agree with them is labelled a Red Tory, Racist, Xenophobe etc.
They really shouldn't be too suprised if the "Red Tory" stops supporting them and move their support elsewhere.

He also disliked the monarchy and wanted it scrapped, essentially with it our constitution.

I have a lot of respect for Benn but he’s often offered a god-like status from the left and even some of the right. When his last act was to protect his vast inheritance, to his family, from taxation, something in which he had campaigned against throughout his life.

This is the thing with many on the left, they’re happy to talk down to people with who have very little, patronisingly offering help, whilst send their own kids to private schools and accumulating wealth.

At least the right are unapologetic of their wealth, mostly, and the goal is to help others achieve that.

Exactly this.
My background is working class, my mates, with a few exceptions, (including a daughter who thinks she isn't), are,
and each and every one has turned against Labour, as they now, correctly, see it as a metropolitan southern based preachy,
moralising elite, Lily Allen, style entity. Labour also has gone to the leftists who sneer at patriotism, royalty, and have a leader
who encapsulates this attitude exactly, with a mindset that is anti west, and pro anyone who wishes this country ill.
All this is anathema to most folk, and it's why the party now finds itself where it is.

Yeah, squirrelled away in the Channel Islands, I believe.
