The Labour Party

Ha ha - how you squirm and deceive. This one exchange is irrelevant in the scheme of things - even though it started with an entirely sensible post and then you quickly dropped into your snide mode

I can embarrass you by showing the board the plethora of your snide posts that you post at me / about me as you carry on your obsession with me over the last year or so

But I don't need to - so let's see if you can start this new year with any kind of backbone / truthfulness etc.

Have one more shot - because you have demonstrated that you simply have to have the last word and then do not ever reply to me or talk about me again

Go on - let's see if you can do it - because I can easily disregard you and have only bothered to respond after months of you stalking me.

So let's be clear - I will not reply / comment on you until I see you mention me

You have been so obsessed with me for so long I doubt that you can do it.
That’s got to be the biggest pile of shit posted on here in a long time.
Pure projection.

The threads are littered with you trying to engage me in discussion so you can make those pathetically poor attempts to demean me.

And now your latest transparent tactic of challenging me not to respond to your derogatory and insulting comments about me by saying it would be obsessive. You’re a fucking joke and nobody is fooled by your deflections and lies.

As I said before, fuck off and bother someone else.

Sir Keir Starmer has decided to stan. Good to see these remain based champagne socialists are in touch with the northern roots of the Labour party. Totally clueless. I seriously cant see labour getting back into power for another 10 years. The party is too riven by brexit and dominated by extreme momentum driven left wing ideas. Sadly they have become an irrelevance in British politics by their own making.

I agree, totally the wrong choice, in 5 years, why would those who voted to leave the EU vote for one of
the main characters who was telling them how wrong they were, and attempted to frustrate their vote at every turn?
Once people have rejected a politician, it's very unlikely they'll support him again.
Labour are in total denial, about everything it seems.

Maybe because it will be 5 years after and brexit remain/leave will not be relevant as no one is cgoin gto campaign on re-applying.

Thankfully brexit will not be part of the conversation as we will have moved on.

It won't matter in 2024 who wanted what in 2019

Fine, get Starmer, a remain obsessive, who's just been on Marr basically saying Corbyn's policies were sound, and
get slaughtered again. He's saying such things because he knows the commissars won't stand for dissent, unless Labour can
gain control of this, the Nationalise everything, free everything, section of the party holds sway, and they will vanish.

Maybe they think in 5 years time Brexit would have been a bad thing and those who ‘lent’ their vote to Johnson will be willing to give it back to Labour, and in particular someone who was right all along?

More likely though, Brexit will be over and done with in 5 years and brushed under the carpet so no matter what someone’s opinion was 7 years previously won’t make any difference

It’s an interesting thought experiment though - if wrong, how many of the electorate would actually admit it to themselves, nevermind vote a bloke in who’s position hasn’t really moved

An assumption of Brexit being bad is understandable for those committed to the EU, basing predictions on it though,
I'm not sure, if it's all good, Starmer looks even more out of touch.

I don’t think it’s a bad assumption, particularly from their point of view. They certainly can’t come out with Farage MK2 as their leader(do they even have one) as that would alienate even more of their voters

If they believe rejoining the EU is best for the country then that is the position they should take. And sell it, when the time is right. Not run round in the slipstream of public opinion

I also don’t really get the ‘out of touch my stuff. Does anyone seriously think that Cameron, Johnson, May etc understand or even care about the lives of those with fuck all? The country seems happy to vote in privately educated Tories but not successful Labour MPs. I’m not sure why that is?

The way to have won the election for Labour would have been to support the peoples vote to leave fully and to have gotten a leader and cabinet that doesn't have their heads in the air observing contrary politics. A politician like Blair would have walked the last GE if he and his party would have supported the vote to leave.
That being said they are still being paid and they are going to virtue signal themselves into opposition in perpetuity.

Genuine question - what does ‘virtue signalling’ actually mean? And is it a bad thing? I ask as it’s phrase I never hear in real life, I only ever see it on the internet

Labour paying the WASPI women, giving free student fees and free internet etc, having a shadow cabinet full of people who seem to just concentrate on minority interests. They alienated the working class years ago they need to get them back or they are finished as a party, dislodging the Tories should have been easy this time around.

What are you on about?

You said people who voted to leave the EU wont vote for someone who wanted to stay, well obvioulsy not now but in 5 years that won't be part of the conversation, the conversation and how people vote will be on the big ussue of that day.

Being remain now should be irrelevant in 2024 unless you are advocating re-entry.

The rest of the policies are not yet set so really I cannot comment on what they will be, but all have confirmed re-nationalisation of the rail is staying but not confirmed on the rest.

Remain/brexit won't be part of the debate in2024 and anyone wanting to use it is then is regressive and wasting the countries time

I discovered that the ex-marine from Burnley who sits near me voted Tory for the first time at the GE. When I inquired as to why, he said: "What? Support a party that hasn't supported the services for 15 years? And hasn't supported the UK since Corbyn got to be leader" He then had a rant about Corbyn and Momentum's support for every enemy of the UK.
I don't think the Labour party will get his vote back anytime soon.

Did he explain the support the Tories(the actual government) for 9 years have given the serviceman and women?

They don’t seem particularly like bad things. I know a ‘working class’ WASPI women for example and I’m pretty sure a lot of minorities fall into the working class

Free internet is absurd and not credible that is what makes me think there was more to it than the headline, although I think I was away at the time so didn’t read much about it

Regards free student fees, that’s not that radicle, they do it in Scotland and would surely help those from a working class background get into University rather than be scared off by the ‘debt’

I agree with your last bit. Anyone, and I mean anyone, who could string a sentence together should have been able to win the GE but seen as though they didn’t I think someone like Starmer would be good. He might not even take them into the next GE but I think he will give some credibility back - he at least looks like he belongs there whereas Corbyn, Long-Bailey, Burgedon and the like all seem hopelessly out of their depth

The starting off point should have been advancing pension rights for everyone of that age bud, the reaching for that particular vote didn't help them. Equality is a dead rubber with Labour.

Maybe it should have been. But it doesn’t take much imagination to envisage the headline “Labour don’t want to stop at WASPI, they want to reform the lot - where will the money come from?!” Or “Labour scheme you change ALL pensions...”

Not withstanding my headline writing needs practice, they couldn’t really win in the campaign. Partly because print media in this country and partly(maybe mainly) the leader couldn’t articulate a vision but nor was he ever really taking a positive and credible vision

He spoke about how bad things are rather than promote hope. No one wants to be seen as a victim, they want to see themselves as potentially doing alright one day.....
