Tebas said: “I do know the Manchester City figures, where their income comes from and that figures don't add up to a certain extent, if we take into account the market figure, so I think that some kind of penalty needs to be imposed.

“One of the major issues in European football is related to [financial] doping. Obviously, with PSG we were very aware of the accusations, because we have very solid evidence of this.

“In the case of Man City and the investigations that took place I'm not that aware of the circumstances of it as I’m not sure of the specificities of it. But obviously, a sanction needs to be imposed. There has been a lot of buzz about this.

So on one hand he knows the figures don't add up, but then admits he doesn't know the specifics of the case against us. Doesn't stop him calling for sanctions against us though. Wanker.
Yes, he does know our figures, tho' not up to date. A year or so ago, he visited City and Soriano went thru the books with him in an attempt to get him to desist. So he knows that what he is saying is a lie.
His comment about the market figure is saying our sponsorships from AD sources are inflated. Prick.

Tebas is a fascist and I think our legal department should dig up some dirt. How La Liga ever thought this guy should represent them I have no idea.

We may have dug up some dirt already but until you get an honest media willing to run the story nothing will come of it. You only have to look at the Dips hacking us, first they threatened the Mirror with legal action and second when the Times publish it no one else really covered it. You also have to look at the lack of action since our owners came on board, they have made a decision to do everything quietly and discreetly.

We each have our own view bud, but imho I think in the US the authorities, like the FBI for example, in general are less swayed by status than some of the institutions in Europe and elsewhere. Ultimately in this case, we’ll have to wait & see.

I would agree with you, IMO the US made an honest bid for the World Cup, when the authorities saw that they had lost out to corruption they decided to do something about it, compare that to our own lot who bribed (and still lost) the bent bastards after which our government/law enforcement did squat.

I think you are right. Let's hope that 'quietly and discreetly' we kick these pricks in the balls.

Seems City don’t give a fcuk about the lies and the reinforcement of the lie that will stick in the minds of all other football supporters

I not sure they do not give a fuck. The chairman called this bloke in his video at the end of the season. He actually laughed at him.

What City will not do is have a public row.

They will sit down and sort as they see it in the correct manner

Take a look at the comments on the Mirror article. It's chock full of lunatic made up stories by rabid dippers who care nothing for the truth and even though they look as if they were written by a five year old there are masses of equally stupid people who will believe them.
could it mirror brexit any closer....they both depend on a poisonous media agenda

Wouldn't City need to prove what he said was untrue in order to win? Or would he have to prove it was true?

The former seems something that City would want to avoid as it would require revealing things they'd prefer not to.

In libel/slander cases it's the responsibility of the accusing party to prove what they wrote/said is true. The accused party doesn't have to prove anything.

Tobias o’clock again? Fucking hell give it a rest you ****.

We should push him to find out how he knows. Someone from the UEFA board leaking investigation details?

That depends on the country, and UK law is very unusual in it's placing the burden of proof on the defendant. Given Tebas is in Spain, talking in Spain to a Spanish newspaper, you're probably going to have to try and get him under Spanish law and IIRC last time this came up people worked out it's almost impossible to successfully sue someone for libel or defamation in Spain.

Javier Tebas sounds really grumpy, so it's highly likely that UEFA haven't got a hope of their trumped up charges sticking. Wonderful news.

There was a quote of him saying, "Uefa have dealt with some FFP cases the right way and they should be congratulated. But there are two specific cases, Manchester City and PSG, which are not being dealt with correctly." So he's just being grumpy, he's actually saying UEFA's standpoint on City is not what he wants it to be. Good news.

Don't forget that there was an interview with Ceferin last year in the New York Times covering a broad range of issues. I think our "friend" Tariq Panja ran the article. Amongst other things, City and FFP were discussed. But so was Tebas. And you got the feeling that Ceferin was diplomatically saying that he's a mouthy bastard and should shut the fuck up.

His definition of "correct" probably has a touch of megalomania about it Marvin.

From the Goal article on tebas........

Both clubs have signed a plethora of marquee players, allowing them to challenge and often usurp established clubs at the top in their respective countries.

How many is a plethora?

Surely though, in all seriousness, it’s about time we shut the cûnt up once and for all. It’s just not acceptable that he comes out with this shit and our legal team should finally get their act together and issue him with some form of writ.
I see comments made by Tebas, the self-confessed neo-nazi, have been reported widely in the British media with no challenge or context. The context is that Tebas has made these comments in the last 24 hours to deflect attention away from the La Liga match-fixing scandal which has just resumed in the Spanish courts. The scandal, which impacted on Champions League positions last year, involves at least 42 people who have been charged, including former United player Ander Herrerra.
Another piece of context is that La Liga clubs currently have combined debts of £2.5bn because of financial mismanagement so Tebas is not in any position to lecture anyone about finance. These crucial elements are, as usual, ignored by the English press but a quick check on Google shows they are being covered extensively across the rest of the world.
Why does a liberal newspaper like the Guardian report the offensive comments of a racist Nazi supporter (who has openly called for muslims to be deported from Spain) about the Arabic owners of City and PSG without any journalistic challenge or balance?

He needs to be specific otherwise he's going to land himself in hot water.

The transfer spending topic over Pep's management shows that Man Utd's spending is about to surpass City's - does Mr Tebas have anything to say about that, or the wage bills of Barcelona or Real Madrid?

I like his comment that City's case is not being dealt with correctly. Another indication that UEFA investigation is going to to have an acceptable outcome for us
Or the debts. Rags owe £500m and Barca and Real between owe £2bn.
