I think it is clear we are moving to an Australia style points based system and i am all in favour of it.
I think it will be expensive, time consuming and ultimately won't work, in my opinion. It will be off-putting to business and talent, particularly at a time of uncertainty
Any 'points' required would be easily achieved if it is ever implemented. I've been too concerned with immigration policy so may be wrong with this but if it was that desirable then why did we not trial it with no-EU immigration prior to leaving to see if it works?
Is 'point based system' the new 'build the wall' i.e sounds good and convincing to some people but ultimately a load of hot air that is not worth the money, time and hassle? Time will tell I suppose
