You’re happy to see @hilts take the piss out of low paid, low skilled workers then?
That's not what he was doing. He was taking the piss out of someone's attitudes towards low paid workers.

I'm surprised you didn't see that given what we went over.

It was you who banged on about Pret a Manger and its staff - I don't recall anyone else even mentioning it. Its hard to make a persuasive argument out of something you never actually reference.....
I'm guessing you've never watched Question Time...

It's a reference to the woman in the Question Time audience who asked who's going to serve us in Pret when they can't get EU staff. I thought she was saying it tongue in cheek but they've made so much of it that I wonder if she was a Leaver plant! (I can only find the clip on a link to the Sun.)

She was right though. It was just her chosen illustration of staff shortages being met by EU workers. Catering is a big bit of the economy and if you can't get the staff...
Certainly the two new British staff in one of our local breakfast places last week weren't exactly brilliant (the owner is foreign).

I've seen those in my local Tesco.

Of course when I say "in"... the box is so huge they're stored outside.

I wasn’t you are as daft as blueuntrue:-)

Ah well fair enough you had me there. I missed the subtleties

Fair enough, I'm happy to acknowledge my error, much less effort involved than continuing to see it the way I want to and going on a rant. Good morning to you

Just checked. They have different categories for employed, unemployed and inactive, which is exactly what i was saying.
And there are more employed than ever before, why persist with this ridiculous assessment?
It's sounding like an almost demented, frantic attempt to paint fact as fiction mate, everyone knows now
that unemployment has fallen dramatically, but, if your interpretation soothes, well carry on.

I'm sure there were plenty of Remainers who expected and still expect a net outflow of financial jobs from UK to EU.

I'm less sure you will find many Leavers who predicted that EU firms would have to open UK offices to deal with the red tape of our not being in the EU.
Yes, there are plenty who expected an outflow, and they wrong, the fact that there is an inflow has proved
just how wrong.

Massive net outflow.
Indeed.
The opening up of satellite offices in the UK of European financial services companies to service the UK market will by no means compensate for the huge outflow of assets and jobs in the other direction. Fortunately for the financial services sector in London, it has the critical mass to thrive post Brexit albeit with increased costs due to some operations needing to be on the continent. It will be other sectors that will get screwed if we end up significantly out of alignment with EU regulations.
As I've said before, for these reasons, I think we'll stay quite well aligned but the government will trumpet where this is not the case and keep quiet about the 90% where we will carry on as before taking on board EU rules as they are issued but without any say in their formulation.

Ancient is a one-man satellite office.

Presumably the organisation will have to find out how many points (say) a nursing assistant needs. Then ask the applicants may have to prove they meet the points criteria(yet to be decided) i.e provide documentation, go for exams etc. Then the employer will have to show proof of role. Presumably then the organisation would be required to send that to the government, wait for approval, then wait for visa/work permit to be issues* - that will take a while, longer than it does now - this may not be worthwhile to home, business or building site. Ultimately they might pull the whole thing. If you need 20 people, only 10 are from the UK and you have to apply for 20 visas they might just forget the whole project

As far as the employee goes, they might not bother. Why when they can go somewhere else without such administration before they have even left their front door

One of the sells to Leave was lest red tape and bureaucracy
I would suggest that they would only make it so complicatedand difficult if:

a) they were utterly incompetent and/or fuckwits, or

b) they were Remainers going out of their way to desperately try and build a case for a otherwise pretty non-credible argument

and people think they are going to give us a great trade deal ffs - its America First

So I see UK-US talks are going well. So much for using them as leverage against EU The United States would consider "arbitrary" taxes on British car firms if the UK government imposed a digital tax on big U.S. technology firms, Treasury Secretary Steven Mnuchin said.
Have you actually read much on these exchanges or have you just selected a snippet that you thinks supports a doom-mongering claim even so it makes you look a bit desperate and out of touch?
