I was walking out in the concourse at the San Siro where the Atalanta stalls were in my City jacket with 2 friends and we got escorted out again to que up to get in for away fans, we were about 8th in line and got our passports checked, but I assume when it started getting busier they might have stopped doing it but they definitely did it to the early arrivers

It varies mate. Buy tickets now and City nights send out in a week or two. Buy closer to the game and you will either get your tickets sent out fast or have to take an e-ticket if very close to match day. The home match is close to selling juntas you probably know.

OK Thanks. I could easily be mis-remembering this, and I was fairly late too.

Personally I'd never take a chance that they might not check my ticket or passport - I'm far too risk averse ;-)

A mate of mine phoned the ticket office up at lunchtime and asked City how many tickets were left for the away leg. He was told only 594 which isn't what he wanted to hear as he's got about 9000 points and not even on the cup scheme. I was surprised at this as it only dropped to 19000 points and cup scheme at midday so I've just done my own check. I only got 573 tickets, but there's loads of additional blocks highlighted on the planner in the same area of the ground that you can't select tickets in. I'm guessing these are just for home fans and it would square with us getting a lesser allocation than the previous times we played there but can someone clarify? Seems odd that City wouldn't have them greyed out on the planner if they're not available to away fans in the first place, or are we negotiating to try and get more tickets? I want to give him some good news, otherwise he's going to have to take up a crash course in Spanish!
 
No way I will get a ticket but I'm going regardless as booked flights and hotel as soon as the draw was made, will just get some in the home end or any ticket regardless of who's names on it... Never had a name check yet and been to loads of games with named tickets....We are a resourceful lot us Blues, where there is a will there is always a way.....
 
Club are saying we received a reduced allocation due to ongoing redevelopment work at the stadium.

Do they print your full name on the match ticket or just your surname?

Home leg maybe about to sell out. There's about 300 seats left on sale online of which only a handful of seats are together.

Unknown: Whether City have more seats to go onsale?
Unknown: How long it will take to shift those single seats?

The singles tend to take days to sell until it reaches a point where the remaining ones drop off the web site, presumably given to schools, volunteers etc.

I think they shift around people in the areas they give tickets to youth teams etc so people get tickets together. There are hundreds of tickets given out so the Club has a bit of flexibility.
 
Nearly sold out.

A few single seats scattered in the remaining blocks.

CompRe that to 1000's if tickets left against United.
 
Does anyone know if you can buy tickets from the booths dotted round the city on match day for the home end? Or if it’s likely to be sold out before match day? We don’t fly into Madrid until 11.25pm on the Tuesday so will have to buy them on match day morning
