I have often said, it seems like to me(as well as hearing of a stat from earlier on the season) that although they are obviously very good, things are going abnormally well at both ends of the pitch for Liverpool this season. In that they are creating less than last season but scoring the ones they do get more often, and conceding more chances per game but teams are bottling it when they do find themselves in front of goal. I can't remember many match winning moments from Alisson this season, if any at all.
Looking at the chance conversion rates so far, it seems the stats do indicate half of it. City are 5% below the league average and Liverpool are 23.5% above it.

Here's what the table would have looked like at the end of last month, had we taken our big chances.

For the defence side(from the same article), I must admit the graph is confusing but it seems to support the idea that teams have been more ruthless against us with the chances they do get.
Although Liverpool fall under the "good defence and wasteful opponents" category, my point was that they were conceding less chances last season, from what I gathered. I'm not sure there are any up to date comparisons compared to last year for that.
City on the other hand, since they straddle two different sections, shall we say "average defence and ruthless opponents"?
