What hurts most is the feeling that the best football in the league won't get the title.

We have a competitor who has analysed the situation and found out that you can win matches without great footy.
They found out that defence is the place where you win titles when you also have some talent up front.

They know their bench isn't good enough for rotation, and the 1st 11 can only handle the minutes played if they are managing their efforts in a very efficient way. Look how much they are passing the ball in their half, without trying at all to create anything.
But when they go for goals, they do it with energy, and once they win they rely on their defence again, and play on the break (if at all).

They are very patient, wait for opponent mistakes and completely rely on the front 3, standards (and biased officials).
Surely their general attitude is top notch, and tbh Henderson (also VVD) is a very strong leader at the moment and an important factor for winning.

It seems they generally can go on like this, playing their 1st 11 in an efficient way, also next season.
If only mid and low table teams found out to concentrate on destroying the match and go for a 0-0,
we could see how much talent and energy it takes to break up tight defences.

As long as opponents refuse to convert sitters and invite them for easy goals they will just go on.

To be fair if they set the bar that high I can’t see anyone ever doing that again.
Agree. The likes of Arsenal, Chelsea and Spurs will surely be better than this season.

Strange really that, despite all the PL money, there are only two stand-out clubs. The effect in recent times has been to ensure that even the unfashionable teams are mostly of a decent standard.

Always has been. I long for the days when we could defend ;)

That’s helped massively I think In them being where they are. It says a lot about the league when the only team after 23 games to take points of them is a really bad united side. The rest (apart from us to an extent) need to catch up massively.

Just been having a look at the twitter feed for the below. this is very interesting and seeing as FSG as a whole look to use cheating methods to get results - could there be any traction in this with how liverpool have improved ten-fold

2. Now I'd just like to add there is no evidence to confirm what this Everton fan believes, but there has been a small but curiously consistent bending of rules across various sports teams that FSG owns. 2 Business Sectors are Roush Fenway Racing, and Boston Red Sox.......

3. Stephen Wright - Boston Red Sox - Pitcher. (Pitcher is arguably the most important position on the field) Positive test for HGH and suspended for 80 games. Reported March 2019

There seems to be a pattern emerging of doping at the Red Sox under FSG ownership and they have also been implicated in cheating in motor racing with a doctored car

I think we have it in us. We’ll be hungrier next season and hopefully learned how to avoid defending so poorly. And hopefully back to full strength plus a couple of reinforcements.

And while I’m not churlish enough to attribute their fantastic run to luck, the dippers have had a level of good fortune that won’t hold up indefinitely.

Additionally, people eventually work out how to counter a successful system. It happened with us. It will happen with them.

Liverpool winning the league is not the worst thing that can happen. Liverpool winning the league and breaking all the records including becoming the new invincibles is the worst thing that can happen. They would be talked about for years and years and years and years. They would be labelled as the best team in the history of the universe. Stuff like City's 100pts centurions would be long forgotten.

Actually it's mind-blowing that there can be a team that might surpass City's achievements that were achieved only 2 seasons ago!!!!!!!!!! I seriously thought that it will take someone another 100 years to surpass the 100pts in the year 2145 or something like that but not freaking 2020!!!!!!!!!

Come on, they've reached back to back CL finals and are joint favourites (with us) this season too. I don't think even you believe it when you keep attributing their success solely to VAR.

they are the leaders in the premier league by a mile and they have made it number one choice to try and win this season, the cups they have given up the league cup and the fa cup played a weaken team in the last round, so maybe they will lose there legs later on in the season and have nothing left in the tank for champions league vs a big team over 2 legs

funny that every time i watch liverpool they don't look that good ?? and they play back to front with the ball over the top and gamble at the back, and with both wing back pushed up and you get the feeling you can beat them with a style like city use ?? but we struggle to handle the press and turn over the ball so many times and we lose our shape, but pep is a master at finding something new and i bet he's got something up his sleeve for them next season

Don’t devalue them mate. Heavenly football requires all the stars to align, including massive investment.

Klopp has marshalled and motivated his resources brilliantly. The dippers didn’t even sign anyone last close-season. They have achieved what they’ve achieved on a relatively low budget. And that includes winning the most prestigious competition of the lot. They play to their strengths and have kicked our arses this year if we’re honest.
