Did anyone else think that SON seems to have taken over ‘diving duties’ since Kane is out?
There was less contact on him by the keeper than there was by Loris on Raz the other day.
One rule for one......

Yep blatant dive. Not even discussed apart from pointy saying there was minimal contact with a glove on his arm. No slow motion view, nothing.
He was on his way down before any kind of contact.
Oh and Spurs were shit. Again. Let off by Saints poor finishing. Again.
Talk about lucky!

Someone tell the silly **** you get exactly what you deserve. Trophies are 'won' not earned.

Another self entitled fucker

I think Dele was very consciously referencing the lead up to the Champions League final last season when all and sundry were saying that Liverpool deserved to win it - partly because of just missing out on the title after an epic battle with your lot and partly because they had lost the CL final the previous season. Of course, the truth is that all that was irrelevant. What happened during the actual final was all that would matter. Nevertheless, that didn’t stop the media narrative that Liverpool would deserve to win.

In a sense, I get what Dele is saying. It always seems harsh when a team that has often come close in various competitions declines and breaks up without having won anything. Best example would be that 1970’s Holland team. Or Hungary’s early 50’s team. “Deserve” is just the wrong word to use to make the point, though.

I bet Delle Alli doesn’t get the same punishment for his racist remarks about the Chinese.
FCUKING double standards yet AGAIN by the FA

Give them a chance. They might surprise you!

But, yes, when you compare the two, you'd think he's got to get at least the same punishment.

Bernardo: "I think my mate looks like this cartoon character"
vs.
Alli: "That man's Asian so he must be carrying a deadly virus"

a) Alli is English
b) Alli plays for media darlings, Spurs
c) Alli doesn't play for City
d) Alli is being racist about Asians, which for some reason is never taken seriously

So I very much doubt anything happens

A pretty disgusting vile online 'joke'...It beggars belief what some footballers get up to in their spare time, and their lack of thought as to the consequences of their online presence.
The hastily prepared post incident statement where he "sends his love to the chinese people" merely compounds the players embarrassment.
What person,in their right mind would think that what he posted was a good idea or .humorous.. given that 900 people have said to have died from the virus.

Struggling to understand the somewhat extreme reaction here and in the media.

There’s nothing inherently racist about Dele’s video. He’s not taking the piss out of Asians. He’s taking the piss out of the hysteria and paranoia that is always generated around any reporting of such an epidemic. He’s not saying that all Chinese people are disease carriers. Nor is he mocking those who have died.

You can definitely say that it was an ill judged joke given his high profile and given that, after numerous false alarms over the years, this does seem to be a more serious epidemic. But racist? Nah.

You see that there what you wrote is what some city fans were saying about B Silva tweet! Both are innocent tweets and both are wrong

Of course you are.

Extreme will be when he gets months of condemnation in the press, a 50 grand fine, a one match ban and a 're-education' program for saying his mate looks like a smiley chocolate peanut cartoon. Extreme will be when the London media and shitty fans of other teams put Alli's light out with their hypocrisy. But then he never shone like Bernardo in the first place. And he's not a foreigner.

Who do you support again?
Who does Alli play for?
Are the answers the same?

Exactly. Isn't it terrible when someone gets labelled racist just for denigrating and ridiculing some random stranger based on their ethnicity.

Who do you support again?
Who does Alli play for?
Are the answers the same?

Is the answer relevant in this context?

No.

I’d say the same regardless of which player from whichever team did it. I loathe gratuitous playing of the race card.

How did Alli denigrate or ridicule the person in question?

He was ridiculing paranoia and hysteria.

Hmmmm.

So it is ok for the Sun and Mail to whip up hysteria over 4 cases in the UK and for them to incite barely disguised racism against Asian people, but for a footballer to question all this hysteria - no that is not acceptable - no way - that makes him a screaming racist.

For the record I identify more with Alli's view than the Daily Mail's.
