We were all quietly cheering it on though. The Grimsby gonorrhoea flew under the radar a few years ago.

At least they don't name it after a person any more, like Typhoid Mary.Well, this is the epidemiological name, which does have some conventions, and it is not a strain of influenza.
And the health community do not like using names of places because it stigmatises the people that live there (before, during, and after the outbreak).
But, as @MillionMilesAway alluded to, a common name will ultimately be used by the media and it will likely be something like the Wuhan Flu, even though it is not particularly accurate.
Indeed. At least they don't name it after a person any more, like Typhoid Mary.
Or Calamity Jane...At least they don't name it after a person any more, like Typhoid Mary.

We could do with someone like her these days. In the closest McDonalds to the White House.Indeed.
Though, if anyone ever actually deserved the stigma of such naming, it was likely her.
I officially condemn this remark.*We could do with someone like her these days. In the closest McDonalds to the White House.
Speaking of the MOB (Malevolent Orange Buffoon) man...
Didn’t you hear? He knows very much about the coronavirus. No one he knows has studied it more than him. Only he can stop it.Of course, nobody had thought of that. After all, nobody has ever caught a cold in temperatures above 18°C.
No idea what you are on about!Calling @Mad Eyed Screamer for confirmation.
Those people you have locked in the back room, is there room to slide a Krispy Kreme under the door to them?No idea what you are on about!
Haha. It was joke — playing on previous ones from @Ban-jani’s post about his brother having swine flu and being locked in his bedroom — about the building code in New England requiring a 2 3/4” gap at the bottom of doors to allow the safe transfer of Dunkin donuts in the event of a health emergency requiring quarantine of a person. ;-)No idea what you are on about!
One of our friends on merseyside has tried to leave from hospital quarntine, they have brought in emergency powers to stop him,are people stupid, just because they aren't feeling unwell if they take it home to their old relatives or a baby and maybe a different story
Expert on tv saying it seems to have started with a animal the chinese killed ,a pankolin and was eating, that'll teach them, nature always finds a way to get it's own back
Also repeating don't buy masks
I think it’s more a lesson for humanity in general. Most virulent pathogens are zoonotic (Salmonella being among them) and it’s not like we don’t torture, slaughter, and consume animals. Chinese food market and animal husbandry sanitation definitely needs improving but we have a tendency to forget we have (albeit different) issues ourselves. One of our friends on merseyside has tried to leave from hospital quarntine, they have brought in emergency powers to stop him,are people stupid, just because they aren't feeling unwell if they take it home to their old relatives or a baby and maybe a different story

Kill all the cats. Problem solved.I think it’s more a lesson for humanity in general. The chinese are eating things that humans are not meant to eat,it is a message to the human race that we have fucked about with nature so much we are now getting it back, bird flu, swine flu, foot and mouth (or is that the same thing?)CJD,our over reliance on meat and farming has gone too farI think it’s more a lesson for humanity in general.
