Why do you think they have renamed it? Is 'coronavirus just a generic term?
There are many strains of coronavirus, with most just causing what is generally referred to as the ‘common cold’.

This is a novel strain that is different and so is named like SARS and MERS were before it.

I bet it'll be known as Wuhan flu, like that H5N1 virus is called bird flu.

Some **** in the office has been sent home as his Wife may have this virus.
How long until i turn into a zombie ?

Yeah, it will (unfortunately for the residents of Wuhan) likely come to be known as that.

Nearly all dangerous viruses get ‘common’ names that are usually influenced by the media.

Snake flu or Wuhan flu would have been far more appropriate but I have just read that they do not want to use names of places which is strange because it originated in Wuhan.
Well, this is the epidemiological name, which does have some conventions, and it is not a strain of influenza.

And the health community do not like using names of places because it stigmatises the people that live there (before, during, and after the outbreak).

But, as @MillionMilesAway alluded to, a common name will ultimately be used by the media and it will likely be something like the Wuhan Flu, even though it is not particularly accurate.
