Not so. There are usually covenants in loan agreements and there's one in theirs I believe. It's something like if they don't qualify for the CL in two consecutive seasons and their earnings figure falls below a certain level then they're on breach. They'll probably be ok if they're in the Thursday night cup bit of they were to miss out on Europe altogether then they could be in danger of breaching their covenants.
Oh, good! Thanks.

GPDR. It's an actual real life law that means you cannot do that. Hell, if someone was to leave Manchester City then they have the right to be forgotten and all e-mails they were part of wiped off planet earth after a short period of time.
Yep, fishing expeditions not propper and we do not have to respond to them.

You're probably right, but we need to present evidence to CAS which means UEFA will get it too. In any investigation of a quasi legal issue, you have to present evidence. If you can't rely on confidentiality being kept, what do you do?
If we realised UEFA’s determination was a fait accompli, why not miss out the middle man and see what UEFA‘s line of attack would be in advance of further disclosure from us, maybe?

Brilliant. Where are these from?

Yes. They can uphold the decision fully, reject it fully or uphold it in part but send it back to UEFA with a recommendation about the sanction or some other aspect.

PB Its usually the case that no two situations are identical but from your knowledge how often in the past if a club has been banned from entering a competition that they otherwise would qualify for " financial irregularities" by one " authority has the decision been overturned by another or are treading new ground on this one in that regard.

Henry Winter wrote this in January last year when the dippers were 7 points clear and just before City beat them.

Every supporter should celebrate if Liverpool triumph

Most of the article is hidden behind the Times' paywall but the title of the article tells you everything you need to kow.
Yeah, read that at the time. He is entitled to his opinion and it certainly was not a sycophantic piece.

I'd assume that the lawyers involved would be the ones who see the information, and they'd generally be pretty keen to keep their reputations intact.

@gordondaviesmoustache's point about maybe holding back up to now sounds like a reasonable point, but presumably doesn't hold when it goes to CAS.

Looking at the government's proposals for new immigration laws the CL will be irrelevant to all UK based teams making our exclusion also potentially irrelevant. Any potential immigrant from wherever will only be acceptable if they reach a minimum of 70 points on a system that clearly favours the more intelligent humans and even then only if the job exists on a government administered list of occupations registered as having a significant shortage of available UK residents. On the bright side Phil Foden's value just rocketed skywards.

He has invested a relatively small amount and already more than doubled it. If he wants to walk away, he merely finds buyers for the newly inflated assets.

I’m not saying he will, but I’m also not saying it would be hard for him to do.

For my money, he stands and fights his corner in a manner that may make UEFA uncomfortable.
He must have spent well over 2bn on CFG as a whole which is why he brought in Silverlake. Sure, he has a paper profit but the committment is huge in financial and emotional terms. He wont go.

Once CAS accept a case confidentiality rules kick in and no disclosures to third-parties are allowed without the express permission of CAS. You may have noticed there was a sudden reduction in the leaks to the media while our first appeal was being considered.

I will suggest your route is twitter whilst the vast majority on here, dont ever look at it and i dont see any issue in him getting dogs abuse on here because frankly he deserves it.

No blue i know would talk about our club like he does and no blue i know would suck up to the mini rags like he does either.

He can live with the fall out from those choices, especially on the biggest City forum.
I for one would not be aware of his comments other than via this Forum so is it possible he needs more publicity to simply survive financially?

I suppose it makes more sense to his mind to work albeit by cultivating responses both pro and against his controversial writings. Better to do this I suppose than claiming benefit at the same time as begging outside ASDA.

Wild guess but most of our players - present and future - will meet the £25,600 p.a. threshold.

I can’t see it effecting footballers. The average PL players earns around 60k-a-week which is around 3mil p.a - I doubt the tax man would want to turn that sort of money down

Were not the FA/PL in discussions with HMG about this?

I do wonder if that it what has happened. City may have reluctantly concluded that UEFA were so unreasonable that their best course of action was to wait.

Something isn't right about the whole thing: we should have been able to kill this stone dead at UEFA if we did not break their rules. Perhaps their interpretation of the rules or evidence differs from City's.
