Yes it does, if you beleive how some reports put it. i think if you are out of uefa comps, they supposedly dont look at your books for that period, u can spend what you want (as long as u comply with FAs limits, which i thought were scrapped).

that is reportedly the reason AC milan accepted a one year ban, when it looked like cas were going to overturn it (originally 2 years). it was looking like they might finish 5th anyway, so be out of it, and it gave them a further year to 'rebuild'.

The years liverpool were 7th and out of champs league, they spent big, conveniently, not halving to comply till they were in it. (other than of course liverpool never spent any money at all, as all their players are home grown).
The assessment period is taken over three years so we would have to be careful
FAs if you mean PL FFP was scrapped that’s not the case they did drop the max 10% increase on salaries though
Liverpool also were allowed to move £50m to the infrastructure pot claiming that’s how much was spent on the Stanley Park stadium project when in reality it’s was >£1m

Does he (who shall no longer be names) search for 'twat' as well as his own name?
We should start misspelling his name .. his empty searches would do his nut in.

Imagine if we got a two year ban, and in the middle Summer between the two years we bought three £150m players (one defender, one midfielders and Mbappe) in readiness for being in the CL again 12 months later because we wouldn’t fail FFP when not in UEFA comps and went on to win the next four CLs...

They’ve not really thought this through.
Dont transfer fees spread across the life of the original contract? So if we spent 500 million on 3 contracts over 5 years, that goes as 100 million each year in our accounts, so spending huge still impacts our accounts when we are back in the CL.

He's searching his own name on a Man City fan forum?

This admission alone, confirms he should be pitied rather than abused.

Delaney, sadly, must have a few areas of his life which are lacking serious fulfilment, a need for validation from unknown people on the internet, whether good or bad.

So long as he believes people know he exists, perhaps even that he himself knows he exists.

Classic symptoms.

I bet he hasn't got a girlfriend.

Who is it that’s quoted as saying; “I worry...”?
no attribution - just made up sewage, I'm not a subscriber - this is the non-paywall taster..

"Around the Etihad Stadium last night, dodging the puddles on a foul evening in Eastlands, there were two definitive emotions being expressed by Manchester City fans as they made their way into the game against West Ham United. This was their first communal gathering since the ground beneath their feet had been shaken by the news of the two-year ban from the Champions League. In such unnerving times, football fans seek each other out in support, anxious for reassurance.

The visceral reaction among City supporters, in keeping with their club’s initial statement on Friday in response to Uefa’s bombshell, was of simmering anger at the sheer scale of the punishment, that a sanction for arcane financial offences should be brought to bear on the fans...."

Delaney has tweeted over 265,000 times in under 10 years. That roughly works out at around 80 tweets per day so I reckon he must be on social media for at least 3-4 hours a day. Every day. That is not healthy for anyone

Most of the posters on and viewers of this thread, including myself, can easily beat 3-4 hours a day :)

but it doesn't name the quote lol.....I haven't heard one City fan say we fear its the end of City you knob !( not you George )plus I think our main demonstration against the ban will be at the RM home game.

In the event the PL or FA levy any punishment City could still appeal that. In 1994-95 Spurs were fined £600,000, deducted 12 points and banned from the FA Cup for a season for financial irregularities. Following an appeal the fine was increased to £1.5 million (big deal) but the points deduction and FA Cup ban were scrapped, not even suspended.

£1.5M in 1995 was a serious amount of money.

I think Spurs' entire turnover was about £20M around then.

If you're correct then I'm labouring and maybe many other people under a fundamental misapprehension about FFP. I always thought it applied to all clubs all the time whether they were in European competitions or not. Anyone know for certain? Prestwich Blue?

That's correct. That's why Liverpool escaped punishment when they failed FFP in 2013 and Milan requested to withdraw (N.B. they weren't kicked out involuntarily) from the Europa League this season. Milan are now able to (ahem) get their finanical affairs in order and most crucially UEFA dropped their advanced investigation into their FFP breaches in 2016-2018.

Liverpool also were allowed to move £50m to the infrastructure pot claiming that’s how much was spent on the Stanley Park stadium project when in reality it’s was >£1m

I've seen this quoted a fair amount. Do you have a source doc for it at all?

I'm not saying you're wrong - plenty of others have quote the 50M - just after background interest in the details.

Good!

I never want to be part of The Cartel. Us against them, bring it on!
Actually whilst we had to overcome UEFA's "Barrier to Entry" version of a Cartel we currently benefit from its effect.

Obviously our owner is not afraid of competition like the others, but he is benefiting from its effect now that we have matured from purely investment phase to delivering some profits.

We will be the wrong end of ref and var decisions permanently, not just to allow Pool the advantage for this season so players and fans get used to it.
