UEFA board member charged with bribery

Cheers and I sort of guessed that, no I did honest, but I assume someone complained to them ? I have tried googling how it all started but I don't seem to get any further than todays news. One reason for asking is I wondered if the Sheikh had ever given a wedge to private detectives and said go find the shit on those Uefa bastards.

Edit: In the City Forum, on the City banned in Europe mega thread, someone has posted a tweet. This indicates that Fifa originally brought the charge but then looked to withdraw it after coming to an agreement. It seems the Swiss court have told them to fuck right off, they will continue the proceedings. I tell you what it is bloody complicated but it highlights how dodgy the bastards are and how they think they are above the law.
A very genuine question, mate, as it looked like it had already been settled by FIFA but subsequently was referred to the OAG.

If it was settled, why/how was it referred?

No problem.

I didn't especially work out the withdrawal of charges thing, but this isn't anything to do with UEFA, and has been rumbling for years now. I think any attempt to link it to the Sheikh is very unlikely to be convincing. Blatter's FIFA seem to be trying to out-corrupt each other.

As I read it FIFA found out they were bent, investigated and alerted the Swiss Court, this prompted the result they wanted from the accused, presumably a bribe, so they told the Swiss Court to drop the matter as it had been settled. The Swiss Court said Fuck off, (I think they said it in French though) and the Swiss are still insisting it goes to trial. It really is hard to follow though because one of the original allegations was that one of the accused got an enormously expensive watch of the other as a 'gift' but they (FIFA) have decided that is ok !! No other business would allow one of their employees to get expensive presents from a supplier and yet these fuckers...……… It is so bent I am sick of it and maybe think about sacking it.

we get them at work, every Xmas the bribes come in & the receptionist googles the value of the wine etc & the envelopes & parcels & flicks it to HR.

The gift registry is checked to make sure it’s all there & it’s there for ever if your conduct looks a bit dodgy.

I reckon my sum of gifts last year was approx $1500 aud which isn’t like a $500k watch but it is to me ;)

difference is I declare it, regift to my teams, wines, chocs & vouchers & make sure i treat them fairly. 1 shit supplier was dropped after poor performance & big gifter, where as the supplier that gave nothing got 3 year contract. ( warned about lack of gifts tho stingy twats ;)

Right, time to be honest: I was self employed and had a contract with a firm that had a strict no gifts/hospitality etc. A security company we used rang me and offered me corporate for a Derby at the Swamp. I rang the guy I reported to at head office and asked if it was OK. He knew me and knew I would not give undue favours to this company so he said yes.

It was the 1-6 !!!!!! It was effin brilliant. Oh and shortly after I got the company sacked off as they were underperforming which showed I could not be bought. That may also be the reason why I have never been offered a job at Uefa.

Nothing up with that :)

Just as an aside to this thread. The boss of this company had invited 6 people. I got picked up by my contact and we went on our own to meet the rest. The catering was that shit we sat on our own as the Rag head waitress said the others hadn't turned up. (They had sat them on another table and said the same to them !) the meal was late and shite, We did not have time for desert and were told we could have it at half time. Everything about it was crap and whilst I thanked the boss, especially as I had supped countless pints, I told him that it was awful and he was wasting his money. This was not from a City fan looking to damage the Rag income stream, it was just an honest statement. From what I have heard nothing has improved and firms are not queueing up like they used to. Corporate like the rest of the stadium is tired and out of date and another nail in the Rag coffin.

Paris St-Germain president Nasser Al-Khelaifi, who has been charged by Swiss prosecutors following an investigation into the awarding of tournament media rights, previously agreed to pay Fifa a substantial settlement fee that led to the world governing body dropping a bribery complaint.”

So, a fella was accused of bribing an organization, but he paid a “substantial settlement fee” (BRIBE) to escape punishment on the bribery charge!

Was Inspector Clouseau in charge of the whole thing???

Seriously, though, Nasser Al-Khelaifi owns BEin Sports and PSG, and his COUNTRY wants the World Cup. Everyone knows the bidding was bent and inducements were paid, but this is global business and everyone ITK turns a blind eye, because everyone is getting a cut. In a seismic surprise, where for the first time TWO World Cups are awarded at once, Qatar is suddenly hosting the biggest soccer tournament in the world in a country with no serious football team or facilities!?!? Cue the slaves!!!

Also, as if by magic, he GIVES UEFA AND FIFA a gazillion dollars in TV rights money to show his/their competitions, most of which flows right into their lavish trips and lifestyles...all while giving a FIFA Official the exclusive use of his multimillion dollar beach home for 18 months ($1.5M rental value). What could be wrong there? Not a bribe....honest, your Honour!

Against that backdrop, one of the biggest names in European business and football (Agnelli) who owns a club that was failing miserably for years, can suddenly afford to buy everyone. He sponsors the awarding of anointed status on the Qatari crook, et voila! Pockets lined, bribery thrown out, cigars and brandy all around!

Meanwhile, City get banned by these bent bastards, because they’re NOT willing to pay hush money to make accusations go away and all of British and Europe football rejoices.
