League Cup final tickets

I was thinking the same thing.
I work with a Villa fan (who isn't going to Wembley and sees it as a major distraction from their relegation dogfight)
Otherwise, I actually know more Birmingham, West Brom and Wolves fans, as the posh end of Whaley Bridge appears to be a magnet for Midland nomads.

I'm sure there won't be thousands, a few hundred maybe.
There won't be any mate. Brummies are bullshitters and we've heard all these stories before. They only sold out last week with a criteria of a purchase history of 5 matches and a stupid accent. If you haven't got that why the fck would you go to the trouble of getting a ticket from City?

That's the thing I can't get my head around. Any of them who haven't been to see Villa play five times is hardly a fan, more an armchair glory hunter wanting a day out at Wembley.

Same old bullshit about the other

Correct, same old shite peddled on here, some blues really should know better we're just giving the clown empty seat merchants more ammunition as if they need it.

They'll probably forget who they came to support or it might be Prince William and his family? Can't imagine those freeloaders have got a purchase history

My sister and her husband are Sunderland fans. When we played them in 13/14 they were convinced leading up to the game that two thirds of the fans at Wembley would be supporting Sunderland. They went down on the Saturday, apparently London was swarming with mackems, no city fans anywhere. They walked up Wembley way and 80%+ of the fans were Mackems. They walked into the stadium and saw a full City end. They were gobsmacked, “ where were you all hiding?” they texted me.

I was sat in Club Wembley for that. Lots of Mackems in full suits and red ties, bless em, just slightly overdressed. For a club like Sunderland reaching one of the two main domestic cup finals is going to be a once in thirty years event so fair enough they treated it to a full weekend & got a bit giddy. Don’t really get the full go on down to London and balloon about Trafalgar Sq thing myself. Villa have played at Wembley enough times in the recent past though not to get too excitable.

Thats cos they had that side of the ground though, the wembley way side,me and my mate came in from the wembley park tube station,it was full of mackems all in high and good spirits, most of our lot were in the pubs the other side of the stadium.

It was the same when we played United in 2011. When you get used to Wembley you realise that getting there hours before kickoff, drinking/queuing in the allocated pubs etc isn’t necessarily the best way to do it.

Getting all giddy on your big day out of the decade is so small time, akin to wearing jester hats and chanting about how much the opposition fans sing all game.

At the start of the decade I used to spend two nights in a hotel for every trip. By the last couple of years I’ve mainly stayed at my brothers. This one I’m not even going, first final I’ve missed in 45 years.

I’ve no problem with Villa but if I hear some twenty something shirt wearing nu-football internet fan telling me how his team’s fans are somehow “better” I’ll laugh in his face.
