Nothing to worry about. For you and I it’ll be like getting a strong cold or the flu.

It’s older people with breathing issues that will be at risk so don’t visit grandparents if you get it.

I actually think the media hysteria is making more issues than the actual virus.
If it’s anything like swine flu, it’s much worse than getting a strong cold or flu. I was properly ill with that. Sunglasses on even with curtains closed during the day because my head hurt so much from the slithers of light around the curtains, my eyes/head couldn’t cope with little boys of light. In bed for a week and literally just lay there, couldn’t read/listen to the radio/watch tele.

This is a Bio-Weapon.

Only real question, was it deliberately released,or mistakenly released.

Also who is responsible US,China ?

Or is UN starting Agenda 21.

Depopulation of the Earth.

Some estimate that it will take 2 years to peek.

if its a bio weapon its pretty a shit one. 2% mortality rate is nothing for a bio weapon.

My brother got Swine Flu and wasn’t that bad.

Most reports of people who are younger than middle aged with this one aren’t bad.

I just know that this is going to be a stupid question - but fuck it I don't mind embarrassing myself

I have a spare supply of antibiotics - and I am considering starting a course to try and help

Now I know that 'logically' antibiotics should not work as they treat bacteria rather than viruses - but I am guessing that if you get the virus the complications could leading to bacterial co-infection?

Just wondering.

If you take them now you are doing a good job of selecting out the bugs in your body that are resistant to antibiotics , so if one does affect you later antibiotics are less likely to work,Definitely a bad idea.

this is exactly what this one seems to be doing. causes the body to lower its white blood cell count which promotes co infections.

Useless, dont do it.

If you get it the most you are likely to need to take is a couple of paracetamol and a hot toddy.

No,you can do yourself more harm than good if you guess at what antibiotics you need,if you did get complications and it's the wrong ones you could be in trouble, they won't work on a virus anyway

Operation Dads Army - status Classified

wow the post velocity on this thread has picked up since the initial outbreak! Just imagine if this virus really takes hold here, I think we could have a runner against the uefa thread

Things like this are good for the human race in an evolutionary sense. Because of the explosion of the population and the rise in antibiotics, lots of humans who should be dying aren’t dying. So we need something like this to wipe out some of the world’s population every now and again.

Chris Packham did a programme on this last month “7.7 Billion People And Counting”. He said himself that his Dad got an infection and got antibiotics and recovered. While he was glad his Dad recovered, from an evolutionary sense, he admitted his Dad should suffer with that infection and either fight it off or die from it. He didn’t want his Dad to die but that’s what should happen if his own body can’t fight it off.

Humans are just another organism like any other organism on the planet. There’s nothing special about us. Love for family members is a feeling that only exists in evolutionary terms for a strength in numbers/protection sense to help the species in living and evolving.
The only people at risk for this thing are elders, who are already past their reproductive age. It has no consequence in an evolutionary sense.

As for the strength of humans, what do we need to be strong enough for? Why should some humans be too weak to be left alive? We don't have to fight for food in the savannah anymore, we lost those traits long ago. Don't worry, evolution works just fine without any help; if you are strong enough for the environment you live in, you survive. We are strong enough for the environment we live in, even if we have built this environment ourselves.

Overdosing on antibiotics is a concern for us as it selects resistant strains of bacteria, so it can become more and more difficult to find new methods to cure a person from them. But even in this case, evolution is working perfectly fine.

Evolution doesn't have a purpose, it's a process that happens to living beings.

I`d be very upset if the premier league called off all further games and the title was scrapped for the season

Christ, i wouldn't want to be around you if i was ill !

On the other hand it could be a bio weapon with a selective demographic. 2%+ death rate for china. Iran at the start of the day had a 14% death rate to infections. Its not beyond the realms to think nations are developing weapons with a specific target. Lets see the deaths in europe amongst whites

That's a very casual attitude towards a crisis that may grip the whole world and disease which continues to spread at an alarming rate.

Regardless of the age of the patients, they are valuable for their families and its a loss of human life at the end of the day.

People were cacking themselves over SARS and Ebola, ebola most recent. As soon as an American got got ebola they were magically cured by the Yanks. America has already began trialling a new drug and some uni in China has some oral vaccine that "apparently" can stop it but needs approving

I get sent a lot of vids so not sure how legit some are compared to the official word

We have a vaccine as well but it has months even years of testing before it can be used, same goes for everyone else who has one

If he dies he dies.
