Why did we try to comply with FFP in the first place rather than challenge it!
We wanted to be on the cartel island with the bridge drawn up

Did we ever truly have any real choice? at that stage at least, for all the will to challenge it, and it was there, would have been a big big risk. Maybe we should have, but if we had, and failed, and now been in this position regardless, would have far less of a leg to stand on.

It’s akin to when journalists say that by playing in the CL we “accepted” their rules. Like there was any fucking alternative.

I believe I saw an article (maybe Daniel Geey) saying that the chairman of the CAS panel makes the ruling to suspend or uphold the initial decision (ban) during proceedings and one of the ways they make that decision is basically who they think is more likely to win on the balance of the initial written statements. Another reason is how much damage it would do to one of the parties if it were upheld, and we could make a very convincing argument that damage would be 9 figures.
I don’t see this as being likely it’s saying that CAS are prejudging they case From what I’ve read somewhere it’s up to the appellant to ask for the suspension Soriano indicated that they wanted it done in a couple of months, if that’s the case City don’t need to ask for a suspension by asking for one it might mean CAS Don’t expedite the case

If we'd challenged the rules, would have been portrayed as the spoilt rich kid wanting their own way, or to change it to suit them. Now, we 'accepted' the rules.

I have no issue with thd moral ground the club is on. Always disagreed with the rules, always grudgingly played by them, tried to keep to them even with goalposts shifting, accepted the punishment where that was deemed untrue, and finally found ways to comply with them, while slowing down intended progress to do so.

If those ways are now retrospectively questioned, based on effectively gossip snippets, then challenge that perception too.

Meanwhile, the football speaks for itself.

Maybe not Ric and its a completely naive view, but I would love the club to strike a blow against the elite clubs, how tv revenues are distributed, ticket prices, but we seem to be following the same path. However this is for another discussion.

I totally agree but we’ve been so far away from that in this competition so far that a bit of neutrality ‘feels’ odd
It was really unexpected. To be honest if someone would have said (a) there was the chance of wrongly ruling out the Jesus goal for a slight nudge (b) the chance of not giving a pen to us (c) the opportunity of not sending a Real player off, I would have expected a uefa ref to rule against us on all 3. Fair fuck to the lad

The Premier League are working with law firm Bird & Bird to gather evidence of Manchester City's accounting in an investigation run independently. Sanctions could include a fine, transfer embargo or points deduction. Stripping previous titles is extremely unlikely. [@MailSport]

The first element of the investigation focuses on whether City breached the Premier League's Short Term Cost Control measures between 2013 and 2016, a regulation that has since been abolished.

The Premier League are also responsible for operating UEFA's licencing process, and if City are found to have submitted false information in their accounts that could constitute a breach of their licence.

The final element concerns City's agreement with FC Nordsjaelland between 2016 and 2020 - enabling them to sign players from the Right to Dream Academy in Ghana for free, which could constitute a breach of third-party ownership rules. [@MailSport]

If the Premier League's investigators conclude that Manchester City have a case to answer they will either seek to come to a financial settlement with the club or set up an independent disciplinary commission.

Determined to nail us on something

As sure as night follows day and after a fantastic result in Madrid and a cup final in a few days time the daily fail come up with more shite ..

Has anyone asked Der Spackel why they blacked out the sender? Also why the fuck does that e-mail look like it was typed out on a ZX81?!!!
They have also removed the legal statement that every company has on their mails and City definitely did at the time

what I found humorous about the RM game was that we as fans have normalised the shit standard of refereeing we get in the CL to such an extent that having a ‘normal’ ref for once had us all gushing and giggling our tits off about how good he was.....when it fact he was fairly neutral
We want neutral refs that’s the point I don’t want to be talking about the ref or var that’s not why I go to or watch football

Don’t know if it’s already been mentioned so apologies if It has.

Isn’t a coincidence all this City’s scouting network being hacked by Liverpool and the Der Spiegel Email hacking ? Are they linked perhaps ? Wasn’t the word it was ex City employees now at Liverpool that may have hacked into our infrastructure? Somebody who had/did have the necessary know how to garner information?

juts a thought , I get the impressionthat Liverpools arses maybe twitching in all this?

I walked into Ofcom today, the security officer opened up about our good result. Thanked him and asked if he watched, was he a City fan? Response, he was Yoonited and what happens when we get banned for 2 years, even though we might get relegated to division 2. Now this is my point which i made to him because i'm annoyed and the media have brain washed 90% of fans. The FA can't punish us because their regulations were put in place after UEFA's ffp and investigation. When the FA's ffp went live, City were in profit so it's impossible.......he looked on blindedly

Seems the Premier League can???

If CAS finds us guilty, make no mistake PL will be coming up next to hit us. Its gonna be a big legal fight with CAS first, but we need some of the best lawyers for a reason.

So they want to punish us retrospectively for breaching a rule they have since abolished. That sounds very fair. What a bloody witchhunt this is.
