Jesus!

Good article, thanks for sharing it.

Regarding this, I remember one of the things virologists and doctors stressed out when it began to spread here was that being vaccinated against the flu (which is free for people with severe illnesses and elders here) was a good thing also because it allowed doctors not to be misled by patients who thought to be sick because of the Covid but actually had the flu. Unfortunately the vaccine takes ~2 weeks to become "active" and the flu-vaccinating season was more or less over, but it's a good tip for the future.
Absolutely.

”Vaccinate, unless you doctor tells you not to do so (due to potential complications unique to your health status)” is generally good advice regardless of the current viral outbreak situation. ;-)

Doesn’t kill it, so much as it effectively removes pathogens from your hands, preventing transmission via mucous membranes (primarily on your face).

84000 cases world wide 3000 deaths, this doesn’t add up to a pandemic are the powers that be building this up to something it isn’t, it’s been around 6/7 weeks but you would think the end of the world is here. I believe they are not telling us the bigger picture and how long does it take to find a cure.

We have a vaccine ready but it takes a long time to trial it and make sure it is safe and get it licensed,in short a long time

Those are ‘confirmed’ statistics, which are not representative of actual numbers (even when all countries are accurately reporting their cases, which is very unlikely right now, as well).

Epidemiological modelling has about 20x times those numbers across the metrics, though most are much more mild than the confirmed cases (as severe cases are usually the first to be assessed in an outbreak and mild cases may never be confirmed). Beyond that, China, Iran, and a few others countries are likely not accurately reporting confirmed cases, severe case rate, or mortality rate to avoid further panic and economic impact (believe it or not, it could get much worse), or in the case of Iran, they do not have the systems and expertise to report accurately.

In fact, the situation in Iran is exactly what the world health organisations wanted to avoid if possible, as this virus becomes substantially more destructive in undeveloped regions, and it will be incredibly difficult to properly assess those situations and contain the outbreaks from those nodes.
