You should’ve done Hull City v Leeds and then watched Köln v Schalke here. Schoolboy error.
Maybe he’s already been to the KC Stadium.

His reason for going to Valley Parade was to visit another ground in England.

@Rhineland, how did you get on? And did you manage to watch the Köln-Schalke match?

No, he told me he hadn’t when I last saw him. The dream is that Hull draw Arsenal in the cup but they struggle to get that far.

Ultras are a load of self righteous self important cūnts.

Last season, the week before we played Shalke in the CL, the Shalke Ultras nominated some fans from their group to invade the pitch at their Bundesliga home game that week and take the captains’ armband off the captain and confront other players they thought weren’t good enough because they’d had a bad run of form.

Ultras think they’re these great supporters, but that is the opposite of support. That’s disloyalty and shithousery of the highest order and if they think having a bad run of form is hard work to support then they have no idea what supporting a football club is all about. Imagine what they’d do if they went through what City fans did in the late 90s or what Sunderland have done in recent years.

Ultras have this overinflated opinion of how important they are and this pathetic outlook on clubs like City and our ownership yet completely miss the cartelisation of the game from corrupt clubs who’ve created this chasm at the top to the rest of the game. Probably because they’re too thick!

They are clueless and can stick their choreographed cheerleading, shit chanting with no words, band geek drummer boys and their fucking horrendous dress sense up their cheesy arses. Stick to throwing chairs and flag poles at stewards and Policemen when they’re not looking and posting it on Instagram like it’s some sort of victory like the British army in Alamein.

UP DIETMAR HOPP and all the good things he’s done at TSG 1899 Hoffenheim and the local community around there, and for sticking it to the establishment. And fuck Ultras and all their shite.

Casuals > Ultras!

So basically this whole thing started a while back when Hoffenheim got promoted to Bundesliga 1. Hoffenheim is one of the clubs who works without the 50+1 rule, which is one of the fundamentals of German football.
Their sugar daddy Dietmar Hopp became the target of a lot of abuse and especially Dortmund fans were very vocal against him which led to him trying to drown out their singing and chanting by installing loudspeakers below the away section. Dortmund and other fan groups continued their singing against Hopp which led to the German FA to ban Dortmund fans from visiting Hoffenheim for the next 3 years.

This is pretty much were everything started. Other groups showed their solidarity with Dortmund with banners etc. Munich did the same on the weekend and while I personally dont see the point of insulting Hopp and call him the son of a whore I don´t really see the difference to what is happening every matchday with chants against players etc.

Now Munich fans protested as well because German FA broke the promise of not collectivly banning entire fan groups for actions of a few persons, which is what exactly happened with Dortmund.

I personally think it is incredible sad that the German FA wants to set an example with the actions against Munich fans while there were other occassions of sexism, homophobia and even racism where the German FA didnt act.

Funnily enough RUmmenige called Bayen Ultras the "ugly face of Munich" while he doesnt seem to have issues supporting this tax dodging president, accepting expensive Rolex watches as present without declaring them at customs, with bribing involved around the World Cup, with supporting a training camp in Dakar and with a WC in Katar where workers are dying while building the grounds for the WC 2022.

All that while a group like Ultras Munich is openly fighting racism, homophobia etc. on the terraces.

The banners against Hopp are completely blown out of proportion and the media/club bosses see this as an opportunity to fight the last remaining vocal fans who stand between football as we love it and the ugly business side of football.

Great post.

There are fundamental cultural differences which people seem to be struggling with and again, if someones opinion is different to their own it doesn't mean its wrong.

They are far from perfect, but ultimately the organisation and solidarity amongst the ultras of different teams is why ticket prices are cheaper in Germany, and also why you can drink, smoke, and stand if you want to. Whereas supporters in this country pay through the nose to sit in silent stadiums. I find a lot of German chants monotonous and repetitive, but better that than nothing for 90 mins which is what we often get.

The biggest issue arising from this, is the DFB's - and now the Bayern and other club hierarchies attitude and attempts to deal with it, and then comparing that with how they have dealt (or haven't) with racism and other serious issues.
