The Beatles. George Martin turned everything they did into sugary pop pap. Lennon, asked which tracks he would like to record anew replied : "all of them". There was a good band in there somewhere.
Yeah yeah yeah.

They did the opposite of selling out.

Their songs were pop tunes for the masses until the mid 60’s and then they started making music purely for music itself, often taking big risks and trying to be innovative.

Had their albums come out in the opposite order then yes but they didn’t.

Don't agree.
George Martin with his classical knowledge helped them enormously arranging their later more artistic music.
He encouraged them to experiment with song's like A day in the life, Eleanor Rigby and Tomorrow Never Knows.
They were the opposite of a selling out band.
