Well the 4% is based on figures released today. It may not get to 10% but I’m not so sure.

These people are dying when there are intensive care beds. What happens if it does spiral and there are no beds available.

I particularly liked the way MGM Universals decision to delay releasing the bond film until the autumn was presented as a selfless humanitarian act, rather than the greedy fuckers just not wanting low box office returns.

Six bags of fresh flour takes up six litres of volume in our kitchen cupboards.
It will bake me approximately 30 loaves of fresh bread, lasting me 60 days minimum, which would take over our whole freezer, and we need the space in there for chicken, pork, sausages, bacon, rib eye steaks and black pudding (not forgetting frozen veg, for Mrs sf).

Stig Abell made a rather brief tweet not long ago about how the consequences of reacting to the virus (economic downturn) may exceed those from the virus itself. It caused uproar but it wouldn’t surprise me if many politicians took this rather grim view privately, thus striking a fine balance between drastic measures in containing the virus and the economic disruption it would cause.

The US and Trumps administration looks to be a good representation of this.

The problem is combine the army and the police in this country and you are way short of what would be required to implement such a lock down.

By the time we get into a situation where we need 24 hr curfews/martial law the army and police will be as ill as everyone else so even less likely.
