you can have a raised temp with a cold, there is up a bit and very high, the bit in red is what i just said, yes i was tested because i am in the high risk group and i couldn't breathe,i have had 2 emergency treatments in the last week

Sounds sensible to me. If you are a person at risk, then test. If not, then self-isolate.

I know absolutely loads of people who have been unwell for the last few weeks. I think tens of thousands have it in this country. Wont go to doctors and will recover. We have only tested 20 to 30k.
2 months I have been bad, same as other half. All the relevant symptoms. Felt like I was breathing through a straw until the start of this week. We had the flu jab October. Fortunately our business is seasonal, so we have been closed for that time. I know they can test if you have it or not. I don't know if they can test if you have HAD it. If they could and could confirm we have had it, I'd be happy volunteering for stuff if we have to close the business again.

They told me at the hospital that several had tested positive but haven't been added to the official numbers for this area,i am suspicious of the official numbers, what we do know is politicians lie and cover up all sorts
If a politician told me I was a bloke, I’d still check my genitals just in case.

They’re an unreliable bunch of lying twats, to a man.

They can't make the insurance companies do anything as that's the business they're allowed to run in a free market.

It would go against every principle of capitalism the US thrives on.
Pence has already stated that the admin are going to attempt to ensure public (Medicare/Medicaid) and private insurance “covers” the cost of testing.

But the practicality of that is being disputed by many legal and healthcare industry analysts (as it would take legislation specifically forcing private insurance to directly pay for any costs associated with testing).

I think it should be done, of course, as not doing it will lead to many more people not seeking testing or treatment to avoid the cost (many will do that anyway, regardless of whether the testing or treatment is “free”, as the potential of being confirmed to have it and being forced to self-isolate would also ruin them financially). But I do agree it goes against the supposed American ideals of free market capitalism. But those ideals are often at odds with the public (and, ironically, economic) good.

No I'm just trying to ascertain the situation as there are several posters who are concerned about their symptoms.
One of the main symptoms seems to be,excessive posting, and being unpleasant to Liverpool fans. @karen7 had this for a while before the other symptoms appeared.

Bloody hell I hope you get well soon. Did you contact it at Wembley?

I felt like shit after Madrid away. Bad cough, few aches, chapped lips and a cold sore.

Now I either had it or I was run down due to what we got up to over there.

However, I okish now. I still have got a pain, like a muscle strain in my neck.

This thread started off as a good place to dip into for a fair and educated update. I personally feel it’s now becoming an echo chamber of panic and worry.

Yes, this virus is something we should be concerned about, however what we don’t need is multiple posts an hour essentially regurgitating the same information and worst case scenarios.

As far as myself and many others are concerned it is carry on life with a heightened awareness of high hygiene standards.

I work at a global advertising agency in London. We have many colleagues and clients from all around the world - China, Italy, etc.

Our clients and colleagues in those areas are relatively upbeat (as best they can) but certainly not hysterical about their situation.

What we’re also doing is working together to make sure we keep up a good level of hygiene. What we’re not doing is allowing ourselves to be consumed by the situation we are in.

All we achieve from updating this thread by the minute is a regurgitation of information which heightens panic among the most active users.

You need as much normality in your life as possible, which for many wasn’t refreshing the same thread on a football forum every 5 minutes.

Yes, as Discopop also said
As a sales guy who represents 6 Italian companies and all of them in Lombardy they seem to be pretty stoic about things and not showing much panic
I don't see a lot of people panicking around here, but I thankfully see people taking it seriously. I'm not going to judge your government's plan, as I said before I hope waiting works for you even if it didn't work for us. Or maybe you're actually going to lockdown things over there, too. In any case I'm sure they have a plan they're following, and if you don't want bad news you're free to avoid reading them. Keep up the high hygiene standards and live your life without panic or stress, which is always the better choice; just please don't take unnecessary risks when case numbers rise. For your sake and for other people.

Testing: of course they aren't testing everyone who feels a bit fluey.

There is only a finite number of test kits, and there's a whole load of other things with similar effects (common flu, colds, etc). If they tested everyone who came up with a sore throat, there would be queues miles long (putting people in close proximity, which they don't want), they wouldn't have staff numbers to deal with it (irritating and provoking complaint), and they would run out of kits/analysis capability (irritating those queueing, and preventing them testing those who really need it).

I don't think there is a 'win' scenario that they could use for everyone.

The government waffle are not helpful because they are non-specific, coupled with a distrust that politicians will tell the truth. The health officers are clearer and should be dealing with data. The politicians should take note of Klopp's response when asked.

We're a few days back from Italy, and also protected to some degree by geography. Being a bit behind, the need to take dramatic (and unpopular) action is less urgent, so they won't. I'm quite impressed by the Italian approach to dealing with it - quite tough and popularity be damned.
I mostly agree about testing, testing each and everyone is not only very difficult in practice but also probably useless in improving the specificity of the test. Having said that, diagnostic questions can of course be improved.
About our government, I'd say these measures can also be seen as quite popular as people feel more protected.

The severity varies so much apparently. If there was a test that confirms if people have had it, then that would be invaluable. Seems a shame locking ourselves away if we can't catch it, if that is the next phase we go into.

It's interesting and I wonder myself if it has been floating around for longer than they know, or have admitted to knowing. Or a lot of people just thought it was bad flu, which it could have been.

I came back from 31 nights in Tenerife with a cold that started there and developed into horrendous flu, so bad I didn't eat or move much from my bed for a few days except for a drink and to use the toilet. The cough hasn't really shifted although it isn't as bad. When this broke I did wonder especially as the apartment I rented was owned by an Italian who uses it himself, along with other family members. Who knows?

It's on a site in city centre my mate just text me. One of the site managers has it and they're shutting the site down.

RIP Paul. He's with Phil now.

Hope you're right.
German experts expect no big influence of rising temperatures though
and a first maximum of cases in Germany between June and August.
Every expert is saying the same thing mate but it doesn’t stop him wumming several times a day by posting the same thing which is based on absolutely nothing at all.
