COVID-19 — Coronavirus

110% that is one of the reasons the figures are lower. I'm an otherwise fit bloke in my mid 20s, other people may be suffering worse symptoms. In fairness, I'm pretty sure I've not got the coronavirus, the GP would not swab me. He left it up to me to decide whether to self-isolate, think I will be going back to work tomorrow or Friday.
If you have been told to self isolate for two weeks then why aren’t you doing just that?

Just had a message from my football club that the football teams in the Valencia community at all levels (don't know about Valencia CF) have been suspended from playing and training.

It's not gonna be long before Spain is on full lock down.

Why would chippy pick an average death rate or a lower one when he can pick the worst !?
Because Italy’s a European country with a similar health structure although they do have twice as many ICU beds per 100,000 than the U.K. and their over 65 demographic is also similar although slightly higher (25% vs 18%).

Well 111 were a bag of wank. Got a doctor calling me back in the next hour. Coughing and wheezy tight chest now.

Something not right!
they have a procedure to follow lovely, they have to pass your details on and a dr will call you back and go from there,it might take an hr or several hours, take all of your inhalers and chill for now, hope we are still friends x

Haha! Course we are! If i live.

Do you know how utterly f*cked we'd be if everyone had your attitude
An attitude of trying as best we can to way our hands limit contact and get on with our lives? Really?? Mate I have never said this wasn't serious , I have never said nothing should be done. In fact the opposite I would have ceased flights from.the worst affected areas days or weeks ago.

I have just looked at the likelyhood of the vast majority of people coming through this and thought that it isn't going to be as bad as some on here are making it out to be.

That's my opinion and I'm perfectly entitled to it. Just as you are to yours.

Perhaps we should all go into self isolation for 6 weeks should we? And then come out of it in total economic ruin as a country. Because make no mistake that is what woudl happen.

Karen did the local council update their corona cases figures after you was diagnosed do you know?

why so fixated on Cheltenham ?

there will be hundreds of thousands in and out of shopping centres today
hundreds of thousand on and off trains/tubes ...
Cheltenham will involve a load travelling in from Ireland and beyond. It's adding to your external risk and ours.
We certainly could have done without, approximately 80k, people on the move from here over the four days. With not even temperature testing going on at the airports and ports.

there seems to be some drip feeding later on in the day for figures.
The Worldometer site is picking up data from official and unofficial sources it seems and this makes it tricky for some analysis. I'm going into the sources of their data and avoiding media websites for the tracking I am casually doing.

There's some good reading on this site which explains a lot about the dangers of reading too much into some of the patterns.

And @Pablo1 and @MCFC1993

Yes and no. If there's a whole bunch of people untested, we can assume an awful lot of those are not so critically ill... or they would be in the system and would have been tested. I think they are testing anyone who comes into hospital with a chest infection, for example. So the fact there's a load of untested people, could be a good thing - they could be people who are going to get better anyway and not put extra strain on resources.

The rate of growth of the known cases and the rate of growth of the death rates, and hard numbers upon which we can really gauge how fast it may be spreading.

Surely that can only be a good thing If they are self isolated, otherwise this surely increases the numbers of infections further down the road if these people are going about their normal day to day business whilst being positive and not knowing it - isn’t that the crux of the problem here in terms of asymptotic and very mild cases?

This isn’t a conspiracy theory, this is just me thinking about our rotten luck and Covid-19 and football.

I’d bet any money you like that Liverpool play at home tonight in front of their fans with all the advantages that brings and our game next week is behind closed door, losing our advantage.

They should just him off the CL if it isn’t a level playing field.

There is going to be economic ruin in this country because of this now no matter what, a full on global crash. I'm not sure how much of a positive difference not taking measures to slow it down is going to make in the scheme of things, especially when you consider there are some very negative aspects to letting it tear though society quickly which are likely to affect the economy negatively in themselves anyway.

we should be ok this time as everyone has to be at least a distance of 2 meters apart which will give us a great chance of winning this tie if we win the toss and kick off first

Again there is clearly different views as to what constitutes and would cause levels of economic ruin.

I’m already directly losing money on this now.

I completely appreciate that people’s health/lives are more important so not posting this as a ‘poor me’ but with it only being under 500 confirmed and it’s having an impact, I can only see this getting bad economy wise.
