We definitely do not have less than 6000.

I think it’s likely more than that.

I know about 4 people who have every symptom. We have 3 off from work being tested!

They may not have it but it seems most people know someone.

Let’s go off 6000 then. In 10 days we’ll have 50,000-60,000. The point either way being we are currently struggling to cope as it is, yet will have around ten times as many cases in under 2 weeks.

The big problem for dealing with this is that people are so much more selfish these days than they were in WW2.

Ha that is a good point though,it could have any surface of a million on the way during or on the way back,any germs at any point,nobody knows point of contact,i got symptoms 2 days i think it was after getting back so maybe i got it on the way or from the sky engineer 2 days before i went,it is impossible to dodge really

Absolutely, I reckon 90%+ of people who get it will never have a test. The 10% that will are going to those at risk.

Quite rightly, people aged up to 60 will be expected to ride it out at home.

They die of the pneumonia or sepsis it can lead to.

Undoubtedly true. I was clumsily trying to say that some of the deceased might well have died without any assistance from corona.

I don’t like the man at all but he was brilliant today in my opinion.

It’s not a pop at anyone but I can’t for the life of me see why we are not trying to slow it down as much as possible and in the meantime preparing for the time when cases get to high levels. I think in a short time medical staff will have the awful decision to make on who lives or dies because the nhs wont be able to cope. If you don’t have to leave the house or go to places where other people gather don’t do it. This seems the best way to slow it down.

Fucking hell. Just said on the news that Scotland has only 60 ICU beds with ventilators that are currently free. Sixty. In the whole country. I can’t imagine England is awash with them either, but figures like that are harrowing.

Yeah, we’ll never actually know for sure whether we have it or not. I guess the UK mortality rate will appear to rise over the coming weeks and months, with most non-vulnerable people not making it into the official figures.

Because we’ve gone down the line of trying to protect the economy more than others at the same time.

I’d have had a lot more respect if Johnson had just said that tbh rather than have them all say “guided by the science” and not explain how the evidence was contradicting a lot of
their points.
